When I saw that and read the terms and conditions, it said it was a nonrefundable deposit. Did I remember this wrong or am I correct?
You are correct .... hence the petition is a fools errand for those that don't read or don't think rules apply to them.

Tesla is cancelling Foundation Series Cybertruck orders, and forcing people who ordered an FS Cybertruck to take delivery or lose their $1,000 deposit.

In November 2023, Tesla starting taking $1,000 deposits for a Foundation Series Cybertruck.
There are plenty of people that put a $1,000 deposit thinking they would get a non-FS Cybertruck.

Our petition is for TESLA to:

#1 Allow those people, who put a $1,000 deposit, to get put in the line to get a non-FS Cybertruck.
#2 OR convert to another Tesla Model delivery
#3 OR convert to Tesla Cash.

After reading all this silliness. Comes down to one thing…

“An “adrenaline junkie” is a person who enjoys taking part in activities that trigger the release of epinephrine, which is commonly known as an adrenaline rush. They will often enjoy partaking in thrilling, exciting, or intense activities.”

-Written by Adam Rowden on February 17, 2021

Then after clicking they are like “@$&* what did I just do?”

Sorry the $1000 is non refundable!

If someone put a deposit down on an FS, and then wants to back out, that’s on them. Tesla shouldn’t be required to refund them after an order was placed.

Not sure why Tesla would refund the deposit on the order itself. It isn't a reservation - it is an order. No car dealership would refund a deposit on a vehicle they ordered for you.

Also, not sure why Tesla is cancelling orders on FS Cybertrucks. They are still allowing people to create new orders for them. If anything, it appears they are struggling to sell them at such a high price point.

This site has the biggest trolls. This is almost as ridiculous as the da who said he OEM tires burned up at 6k miles and never once post a photo of his CT and then took almost 2 weeks to post up his usage ( or someone else’s) And then “ The Drive” makes internet news articles. Sheer button click revenue.

You obviously didn't read or comprehend the thread.

They are saying that Tesla is telling people to accept their order or cancelling it, keeping the deposit to those not wanting a Foundation Series.

People that put a $1,000 deposit down that was clearly for the Foundation Series and labeled non-refundable should not get a refund. People need to learn to take a second to read why they are paying $1,000. It was all very visible and clearly presented.
I agree. They can not buy non-fs CT for that $1,000 deposit because that was intended only for fs. As I've read some comments, Tesla should but not must transfer the oder for any other car including the non-fs CT as long as their order goes to the bottom of the list or queue. Otherwise, it's not unfair for Tesla to pocket the $1,000.

Petition, smetition. Some people are slow learners. Some have their head in the sand, under mom’s couch. Not getting your money back no matter how many naive whiners you sign up. My 2 cents.

It’s only “bloviating” because you can’t rebut a SINGLE SOLITARY POINT I’VE MADE. The typical oh you’re not a good lawyer bullshit that every online butt-hurt crank tries.

“You may get thumbs up for giving bad legal advice online, but that's also no way to gauge if your advice isn't bad.”

True. The best way to gauge it is by the 100 person law firm that I built, standing in my community, and the unassailable accuracy and value of my counsel and advice which is evidenced by the caliber of my clients and the market share that I hold.
...
Well I didn't want to come back to this thread, but you come off as such a pompous person its hard to just let go. There are multiple things you have said that are incorrect, and I am likely missing more.

1) You trying to ridicule OP for wanting a refund, when they in fact are not asking for a refund.

Correct, I was not directing that at you. And, clearly, I missed the fact that OP has his car. Thanks for that clarification.
------------

2) You were insistent that it is the buyer who is cancelling the order. Yet Tesla says they will cancel the order if you breach the agreement.

"If you cancel your order or breach this Agreement and we cancel your order, you agree that we may retain as liquidated damages the Order Fee, Order Deposit and Transportation Fee, to the extent not otherwise prohibited by law."

Umm. ? No.

If you agree to purchase a vehicle and then put down a $1000 earnest money deposit and then decide that you no longer want to complete that transaction it is you who is breaching the agreement i.e. canceling your order.
-----------

You are human, we all make mistakes and are wrong occasionally. I know I am at times. You have been wrong multiple times already in this thread. Its ok. Be more humble and accept it, instead of trying to talk down everyone and acting superior, its a bad look.

I think we should start a petition cancelling not only Tesla deposits and school loans, but also all the debt of each and every citizen of the United States. We deserve to have a chance to start over.
