I’ve had the Tesla Cybertruck Frunk Cooler for about 2 weeks, sharing some performance metrics.

Table below shows two scenarios--1st is stock ice packs (two) that came with cooler, 2nd is substituting two packs of 2 ice cubes (four) purchased from Amazon:

Tesla Cybertruck Cybertruck Cooler Retained Temperature Experiment Test Results 🌡️ ❄️ 1726596954400-3o

I live in northern Florida (Jacksonville), the day of stock pack test was cloudy all day, no sun, CTB parked in driveway. The 2nd test was cloudy, approx. 2 hours of sun mid-morning, then rain for about 3-4 hours, then cloudy/nightfall.

The cooler had nothing in it except the ice packs (all in freezer for 1 week).

Below are pics of my testing method (wireless temp assigned to refrigerator (right side measure) and my weather station measurements for ambient temp outside (left-most temp reading).

May be of interest to those of you who are considering the Tesla Cooler, a competitor cooler, or those who already have one of either.

Summary of results:

Stock cooler empty lasted about 9-10 hours at sub 50 degrees in Ambient temp of 80 degrees in cloudy conditions. Had it been filled with cold drinks/food it likely would have lasted much longer.

4 ice packs instead of standard 2 lasted 28 hours at sub 50, with some partial sun over 2 days.

Coolness! One comment, the elapsed time column is since the previous data point, not the start of test. Total elapsed might be more useful.

That sounds pretty good, but I believe it to be a worse case. Not having any mass in the cooler is often the hardest thing to cool. Put a lot of cold or frozen stuff in there and it should last much longer.

Of course, one shouldn't but warm, not cold stuff in a passive cooler, that definitely sucks up the heat.
