IMO, a hard cooler is better if you're going to use it secured in the bed of the truck, a soft cooler is better for the frunk. A standard 12-pack rectangular hard cooler fits in the frunk but it doesn't make the greatest use of space.Just saw that also. Will probably pick them up but would still like to see something hard sided and better insulated. But these look very useful!
But, yeah, a lot of soft-coolers are not very serious coolers, they are only meant to maintain ice packs for part of a day. Just know, the thicker, better designed ones can have really good ice retention, especially if you put them inside a liner made of Reflectix. That dramatically improves their performance. Coolers get heavy when packed full of food, drinks and ice packs so I like my cooler to be as light as possible and be able to be carried with one hand, so I don't have to make a seperate trip just for the cooler.
