So I scheduled a demo drive at my local Tesla repair center. A couple of clicks later, and I was behind the wheel of a new AWD (not Foundation, not Beast).

After waiting almost five years, I was beyond excited. It's so frickin' cool. First Tesla demo for me, so I didn't know what to expect. First off, I was surprised there was no shifter lever or knob. Sales rep tells me it's all on the touch screen. So I touch R for reverse, then D for drive, and off we go.

The yoke is worthy of Cybertruck, I'm not sure anything else would be. Cybertruck is big, it feels roomy, and wow! I just loved it. It was way better than I expected, when I was cruising at 35 mph or so, I punched it, and 600 horses came alive. It laid me back in my seat!

Four wheel steering feels intuitive, but the best thing was the brakes. In roughly 20 minutes of tooling around, I never touched the brakes. The regen braking does it all, for the most part. So it used to be programable, but they've since made it max regen only, which is what I would choose anyway. I think only if you're really speeding would you need to use the brake. Asked the sales rep if the brakes will last 100,000 miles, and he replied "at least". He said it's very rare that a Tesla is brought in for brakes. How cool is that?

So, if I was in love with this thing before, I'm obsessed with it now. I'm literally Psycho For Cybertruck.

So, to summarize, the AWD is obviously in current production now. It was great to drive the actual model I'll be getting, and know this: you're gonna love it.

Did they tell you it wasn’t a foundation? Hadn’t heard they have even produced those yet.

Pretty awesome eh? Did you try backing into a space? That will mindf@k you as you see the rear wheels turning and you quickly realise how sharp it turns and you have to correct it. ha!

1.5 months in and I am pretty use to it and nailing backing up 9/10 times. Non-FS means nothing...you experienced the exact same thing we all do everyday driving our CT's.

pretty sure it was a FS - I don't think anyone (including service and sales) yet has the non-FS, don't believe they have started building them yet

You get any pics? I'm pretty sure it was foundation. But there really isn't a big difference, so, depending on the wheels and tires it's probably the same as you'll get eventually.

Before FS was released to the public, many Cybertrucks were delivered to dealerships all across the country. We were monitoring these deliveries here on the CTOC forum. These trucks were not branded as FS, therefore they looked like regular cybertrucks.

I bet money that this truck was one of the early deliveries to dealerships... the ones that many were not able to touch back in the day.

No, in fact I had to call three days later to ask what model I drove, and they said it was the AWD. It was wrapped in a grey/green vinyl.

Cyberman,

I think you may be confusing the models. Did you see the truck say Foundation Series on the interior of the dash board on the passenger side or on the exterior?

The Foundation Series is the only thing they have right now. Foundation Series comes in AWD and Beast.

What you are claiming is pretty shocking news to all of us on this forum. Im just not sure you are sure of what you are saying.

**Did you get photos?

This is probably the case. I drove an AWD demo at the Santa Rosa store/service center. No FS badging. VIN was ~500.

Drove a demo today, but didn’t think to look at the ā€˜badges’…

can’t say they were there, but I can’t say they were not there… however I did spend quite a bit of time simply ogling over the sheer presence of the truck with my misses in the parking lot…

If it doesn’t have foundation badging it isn’t foundation.
