thank you
Just heard back from Tesla (via text), see below. They will switch it no worries. It’s been happening to a lot of people. But I guess they have more core wheels than the AT/cyberwheels available.
I can barely get Customer Service to respond via text (responses are often hours apart), not sure how one goes about escalating...Wow. Damn. I shocked by that. Maybe escalate to management?
Glad they finally realized what a mistake the cyber wheels were.Just heard back from Tesla (via text), see below.
"Unfortunately, the Cyber Wheels and All-terrain tires have been discontinued. I understand this comes as a disappointment to you. Would you like to keep the order, or cancel?"
Does anyone know if this is truly the case? The website (when trying to design a new truck/order) still shows the CyberWheels and All-Terrain tires as an option.
I do appreciate you flagging the concerns with this wheel type (was helpful to get all facts/perspectives as I made my decision), but I've decided those are still the ones I want. If the covers continue to have issues, I'm okay with just the wheel and AT tire. While not a serious offroader, I do see myself wanting to hit dirt roads, puddles, etc.Glad they finally realized what a mistake the cyber wheels were.

awesome. It completes the look in my opinion.Quick update here. Customer Service (via text) finally confirmed they were switching the wheels/tires back to Cyber/AT (my original preference).
And the app now does show Cyber Wheels again, and the VIN is gone. Back to waiting....
100% Agreed. Looks great, thanks for sharing. It's not just the wheel covers that I love but also the "outside" tread on the All-Terrains. And functionally, the greater ability / ease of mind if going offroad.awesome. It completes the look in my opinion.

Received another message in the App with the phone # for the delivery center in case I had any questions. Gave them a call and they said my truck is expected to arrive on or before 9/30 and delivery is usually within 24-48 hours. Great to see things moving quickly. And they also confirmed I could pay using either Plaid or a bank check at delivery. One more update. New VIN just got assigned and I got the request to provide insurance info which I did. Boy, am I glad I pushed back on the Core wheels...
Now awaiting a delivery date. I see that the option to make final payment is now activated in the App, and the options are wire or Plaid (ACH).
Can final payment be made at the time of pickup using a bank check? Given my recent experience with the wheel switcheroo, I'm nervous about any other surprises at the time of delivery and would prefer to make payment after I've looked at the truck. Appreciate the forum's thoughts on this.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the actual difference between the core wheels and the Cyberwheels? Aren't they both 20" wheels? And don't they have the same spoke design? If not, where can I see a photo of the core wheels?Quick update here. Customer Service (via text) finally confirmed they were switching the wheels/tires back to Cyber/AT (my original preference).

Yep, same size, they are BOTH 20" wheels. Different spokes with the squares near the hub on the Cyber wheel. I think also some minor geometry differences in offsets, for example the center hub covers I have for the Cyber wheel will not fit the Core wheel. Some prefer the core if they are painting the brake calipers.Excuse my ignorance, but what is the actual difference between the core wheels and the Cyberwheels? Aren't they both 20" wheels?
