Can someone help me

ordered August 26,2024 after seeing it in person and falling in love

when should I expect my vin number or order. I’m very impatient and in love with the car
they're pumping them out now, your wait shouldnt be as bad, might even get it cheaper minus a few extras.

Which version did you order, AWD or Beast? It’s been just over a month now for my AWD order, still no VIN. From what I’ve been reading on this forum it’s a longer wait for the Beast

Very impressed with the fit and finish. No panel gap issues, or misalignment issues that I've seen on other trucks. Very quiet when driving, and no creaks or rattling inside the cab. It didn't come with the wheel covers, but I assume those will follow in the near future.

1 hp vs. 845 hp – A roadtrip to northern Indiana

My wife and I took a road trip to northern Indiana this weekend to do some biking and sightseeing. The Cybertruck was amazing to drive both on highway and country roads, and very comfortable for a day trip. Lots of thumbs up along the way and people checking it out when it was parked. It was likely one of the first Cybertrucks in this area of the country. Also got to try out my bike rack to see how the rear camera worked with the bikes on it. It thought we were being followed by a car, and occasionally gave beeps in reverse, but I could see well enough behind me.

Stopped in Shipshewana to do some shopping and pick up some chicken feed. Had to drive into a drive-thru to pick up the feed, and the Amish guys loading it into my bed were impressed with the tonneau cover and that the truck lowered down automatically. An Amish man and his wife were sitting there and he asked "What kind of vee-hickle is THAT!?" He wanted to know the range, the charge time, and what it was called. His wife remarked that it was very quiet. They were impressed.

On my trip back to Michigan, it said I would arrive at the Supercharger with 5% battery life, so I had to take it easy. At one point a large F-series diesel passed me on a country road and intentionally rolled coal as he passed. I didn't take the bait, but could have easily passed him. I was already going 10 over the limit and my wife immediately knew what I was thinking.

Speaking of which, she loves the Cyberbeast. She was very comfortable the entire trip. She loved the seats and the separate climate control options. She liked the sound system, and loves being able to watch Netflix at the supercharger. At one point she said it felt like we were leaving our baby outside while we were going into a store. She's already thinking she might like a Model Y now. We will see...

Got a call from Tesla yesterday saying they had a VIN for me if I wanted it. Same configuration as mine, AWD, except it’s a white interior vs my tac grey. I’m taking it, delivery is the 30th. VIN is rather low, 259**, I’m sure there is a story to that, and I will go over it with a microscope when I see it.

I had a similar situation. They said that the guy changed his mind while it was enroute from TX. I picked mine up last Tuesday. VIN is 267**, so a bit lower like yours, but it has all of the later mods (black casting etc.). Only a couple minor issues that can easily be addressed. No notable panel gap or metal issues - in fact, the panels look better than most I've seen.

What is the black castings change up if you dont mind? I must have missed that change throughout the various post threads.

That only seems to be about a 9,700 VIN variance from mine being delivered this Sat with 356XX, also with white interior.
I’ve noted that many of the recent VINs from gray interior have been slightly higher, as though Tesla first ran a Lot of white then followed a Lot of gray making them the most recent VIN assignments prior to this 3rd Qrtr push. Im also basing the VIn variance on matching up the outbound lots numbers seen on Joe Tegmyers YT videos within the end of last week, that were many multitudes higher than previous weeks, which likely included most of the current deliveries now being made, in comparison with the trucks that were sitting in that same lot only a few days to weekly prior to that timeframe to now current, to allow rail and carrier truck delivery to various states for the end of Qtr..

Up to a certain VIN number (around July?) the front casting (inside the wheelwell), was a tan color. They changed it to black, so it wasn't as noticeable when looking above the wheel.

As far as interiors, I believe they ran white, then grey, then white, then grey...and so on. I had initially asked for grey. When I put down $1000 and configured, I switched to white, hoping to get it sooner, since someone else on this forum did that. But then it just dragged on, likely because they had switched to grey again. But after seeing two CT's out west, one with white, one with grey, I called Tesla to switch back to grey. I think this moved me back in line a bit, but not much. Once the VIN was assigned, I picked up the truck the next day.
