So it turns out the emergency breaking actually works. Going about 30 mph when the guy in front of me slammed on his brakes for a yellow light instead of going through it and although I was pressing the brake, the emergency breaking was activated and quickly brought me to a complete stop.
I would have had to eventually slam on the brakes but was taken back by the CT actually doing it for me.
What was weird afterwards my foot was still on the brake pedal still mesmerized by the activity and the CT switched itself from drive to park.
Has anyone had a his happen to them? Does it automatically switch to park if it activates emergency breaking and brings you to a stop?

When my M3P was ass ended at a red light, it engaged parking break just before the hit. Dude hit a solid wall, car didn’t move.

I've never had it switch from Drive to Park on it's own, except for when I take my seatbelt off and I'm already stopped but still in gear. And I really love that, one less thing to do when I arrive and want to jump out.

I guess it's getting better!

Most of these systems are only designed to reduce the impact, not avoid it, since even the radar systems aren't certain of the exact distance to the next car.

Mine auto braked a bit too soon during heavy traffic on the highway enough for me to say screw this. I was more worried about getting rear ended. I feel that I had plenty of time to slow to a stop but the CT slammed on the brakes.

Auto braking is already preventing a lot of body damage and inconvenience. It knows whether someone is tailgating too, so it takes that into consideration for the best possible outcome. And it can "think" a lot faster than the most alert human on speed.

The emergency braking works wonder.... it kicked in and prevented a major accident on the freeway yesterday when someone cut in front of my CT. I was not even using FSD.
