Yes. I’m glad I was fortunate to get a FS. People that have the patience to wait for what they want. I can respect that. It’s all expensive.
Waiting on a Government Handout. I don’t respect. If it’s available then Take the Credit if not. Just Buy the Truck. On your Death bed. You won’t be worried about $7500.
Your primary objective should be to work hard enough that you don't qualify for the Tax Credit Anyways!

It's petty close to where I feel better about getting the Foundation series.

The people who hurt themselves it seems is if you got the Foundation series and opted for the...

-Core All Season Tire/wheel (-3,500)
-Tactical Grey (-2,000)

That caused them to miss out on $5,500 of "free" upgrades.

I had a feeling when they offered the Core wheels and the Tactical grey that those would be the lesser options.
Yep. I'm one of those people. The way Tesla does business and treates it's customers has put me off buying their product ever again. I don't regret my choices of wheel type (core) and color (grey) although it c ould have been a better grey forme it's still better than white. However as a result I get an instant 6500 downgrade in value of my car as they also dropped the value of FSD (if it ever comes) by an extra $1K dow to $7K. If they hadn't wanted customers that made my choices to feel shafted they would have had the core wheels and grey at a discounted price from the off. I'm also wasting time having to fight for the $4K install rebate which they themselves have confirmed I'm eligible for. It really isn't about the money at this price point. It's about the way they treat their customers. In a couple of years other companies will offer worthy opponents I would hope. I won't hesitate to switch should that be the case. Nobody bother saying it was obvious either. Tesla at no point indicated that I was downgrading nor did they give me a discount. They did at one point call the wheels a free upgrade to try and get me to accept earlier delivery of a choice I didn't want. It's not a free upgrade if you've already paid full price.

So here's my summary of teslas magnificent sales approach that only serves to make some of it's customers feel like twats.

-Core All Season Tire/wheel (-3,500)
-Tactical Grey (-2,000)
-FSD now $7K was originally $12K

P.S based on my experience with their service department yesterday the fun isn't over
Oh and it only took 3 goes to drive away with a brand new truck that had straight panels (ish) and a lack of scratches in the b
Have you seen the grey interior in person? It looks really cheap against the black trim vs the white.
It isn't a great "grey" but it's all about personal preference. I don't regret getting grey. I just don't like that it's basically classified as a $2K downgrade now.

Been waiting for non-FS for a while and was banking on getting the 7500 credit to offset FSD. This is the reply from Tesla rep as of 9:30am this morning. So excited to get my truck but looks like I will be getting it without FSD now. Bummer!

Anyone have gut feelings on if this is just a few days until they get the paperwork sorted out or of this will be a while? I don't want to proceed with the financing part in the app if the tax credit will show up between now and early next week. But also don't want to delay if it will be several months until we hear anything.

So excited for my truck!!!

I agree, but I am digging the Tactical grey and it looks great and I like how the cabin is darker. So to me, it equals out. Im fine with it.
I also love the grey. White in a truck used as a truck is just a lot of upkeep! My truck is outfitted with the Tesla cargo boxes, cargo dividers then I customized it for my needs. Get the back seat cargo bin for 250.00 from Tesla and it will come in handy. White is the color to get if it is going to be your car/SUV and not used as much as a truck. No matter what color you will love it. I still have not used self driving yet as I’m scared of running over an alligator!

If you had any idea about Tesla or read these forums, you knew that choosing either Grey or the Core Tires would "devalue" the truck. It was posted here maybe 1,000 times.

White and AT were always going to be an upgrade. It was said from the beginning. Most who chose those said, "I don't care. It's what I want". Odd to be upset about it now.

There's really 0 upkeep with white vs any other color, regardless of use.

My truck is dirty AF, but the white is just wiped clean with a single baby wipe if it looks too bad. It would be the same with the grey as it is for the black in my MY or the Cream in my MS.

If you don't like the white, I get it, but to pretend it's more difficult to keep clean is not true. If you touch any color with brown dirt or grease, it gets dirty. The white doesn't stain, so maintenance is the same.

There's no federal tax rebate listed, only the commercial clean-car one.

Me, too, Crissa, and me neither! My youngest is in his senior year of university, and I need liquid funds just in case. I could finance, but same challenge...I hate to be up against a wall financially, so I will see how long my invite can sit. Heck, I sat on the FS invite for the whole time, as I am a day-one, reserved-while-Elon-presenting reservationist, and received an invite in the first wave. I guess I can order when I am ready. PLUS, I really want my Cyberlandr, too, and THAT seems like a longer shot.....

I'm pretty OCD and I do not think this. I sat in a few white interiors and the waviness is easily seen in the white compared to grey. The white looked cool and I had it as white for months after I confirmed the order, but I am glad I switched to grey. Just my opinion. Also glad I chose grey because it is much darker in the cabin. My preference as well.

If I waited I would've saved $2k, because I wouldn't have gotten the white interior and the FS Beast is the exact same price as the non-FS other than this when factoring in all add-ons/incentives. However, after seeing the grey interior versus the white, I'm glad Tesla forced the option on me, because it looks so much nicer. Ultimately a win, because I got the interior color I didn't know I wanted and I got it over 4 months ago.
Same boat. Did not want white, did not get white, glad I had the option. Would’ve liked to have had the info though - that it was going to be a lesser cost non-premium option so that I could have knowingly given up that $2000.

That said, I don’t know that these cars will ever be worth anything as collectors items but I do know that scarcity matters and I suspect that our FS Tactical Gray CBs are going to be fairly rare. Or maybe not with the production ramp by the time they became available, still don’t know how many people took tactical gray over white FS CB.

I have black in my model Y and look forward to switching it up to White. I also unfortunately, do not qualify for the tax credit.
