First off I really want FSD to succeed and I know it will get there in the future. But right now I’d give it a C. A couple small things would give it major improvements:
- go the damn speed that the driver wants. I’m on a non busy highway where the speed limit is 75. I have the speed set to 85 and it only drives at 79. This is on a flat road.
- start planning earlier! FSD loves to wait until the last second before it’s like “oh crap, I have to get over to make a turn”. Often times it misses.
- have just a lane keeping function so you can tow on the highway. This isn’t even FSD.

FSD on the Model Y has gotten better so I can’t wait for the Cybertruck to improve.

There is no way I would ever give up using FSD in it's current state (excepting periodic updates which I will gladly adopt in place of what we have now).

What do you mean by its current state? It is always going to get better with each update. But some controls are not well thought out. Why do you have a percentage over a speed limit? Why can’t I just say go 10 over ?‍♂

Because fsd is an AI derivative that doesn't really understand absolutes. That's it's biggest drawback that musk seemingly wants to disregard.

In that same vain. FSD works great for heavily populated and transversed locations because it has more data, and other regions are just "oh well, it'll get better...maybe".

You can do either of these things. It’s all in settings. You can also let it choose the speed based on traffic and conditions which is a game changer and in my opinion is the better performing option. Clearly you don’t know what you’re doing so your opinion is flawed. Mine is amazing and works better than my Model 3 FSD. Not to mention attention monitoring, with sunglasses, that allows me to go to and from work flawlessly without intervention or a single nag. This is a 30-40min trek through city and highway.

Speed is most irritating to me. It used to drive the speed I set it at. Now I set to 65 and it drives 55-59. The auto speed is even worse, typically drives under the speed limit….

still love fsd, use it every day. But hate having to press the accelerator the entire time

Small issues, but overall FSD is pretty good. I drove from Sioux Falls, SD to Omaha, NE on a single charge. It was a very nice easy drive letting it do its magic. In Omaha, it handled roads really well and even handled some unusual road situations impressively well. I don’t trust it at a 4-way stop or a 3-way stop and have to experience that more. On long interstate or highway stretches, when set to auto speed adjust (whatever Tesla calls it), you can actually get it to adjust the speed by touching the accelerator pedal and pushing the speed up to the speed you want, and then it would hold that speed for quite a awhile. And then occasionally I would need to do it again to get it to adjust. We have to continue to learn how it functions and it too will continue to improve with ongoing updates. Cheers all.

I’ve been impressed with how well FSD performs in a city environment with so many variables to consider. It isn’t perfect yet, but neither is any human driver. It’ll be interesting to watch as the technology improves with time.

Oh master, please teach me. How do I get FSD to go 10mph over the speed limit on the highway?

Tesla Cybertruck FSD = 👎 (right now) imag

again, I don’t think the setting is the best. Automatic speed offset works great for me and as Moose indicated, if it is going to slow and you nudge the accelerator it will speed up. If you are not in auto speed set you can use the right scroll wheel to adjust speed.

if you are against auto speed offset for whatever reason, the percentage offset is a better option because it’s relative to the lower speed zones as well. You can adjust from there with the scroll wheel too.

I really do respect your opinion about the current FSD state, however, please give it a chance to improve. When you first learned how to drive you did not become an expert driver right away. The current FSD state is probably a way better driver than a few of us when we first touch the wheels. We are just too anxious to make it perfect immediately. Remember practice makes perfect!!!???

It's not clear what you don't understand by "in it's current state", especially considering it was immediately followed by, "(excepting periodic updates which I will gladly adopt in place of what we have now)". ?‍♂

I love seeing the 'reviews' of people who have just gotten FSD - you should have been around a few years ago when FSD was actively trying to kill you ? ?

Oh I totally agree. It’s like watching a combination of my grandma and my teenager driving for the first time! ??
