I created a CT reservation in mid-July of this year (RN 12222XXXX). Just two weeks later (Aug 2nd) we were invited to configure a Foundation Series. Today we received an invite to configure a non-foundation series. I went to the configurator and built a DM which showed Oct-Nov delivery (presumably out of inventory). Same for CyberBeast. So I am calling it: original (US) reservation list is basically finished.

I bought my cyberbeast in the first week of June. Drove it for couple of months and sold it due to some build quality issues. I had another reservation that i did on the day of the delivery event. I just got an email to configure my nonfoundation. I was thinking i have to wait a couple of yrs before my time comes. This is so wild.

What build quality issues did you have?

Below is the exhaustive list. I really tried to find issues with the truck. I know a lot of folks would not care but i cared for my $120k so wanted to make sure it was flawless and that was the downfall of it. Service center was able to take care of almost all of these issues but in my mind, I had grown a distrust with the truck already. I could not digest the fact that the biggest pieces of glasses on the truck needed full replacement and this was for a brand new truck. Anyway, I hope and wish the build quality has improved from that point.
1. Left Passanger Door Misaligned.
2. Left tailgate Misaligned.
3. Left upper triangle trim piece not flushed at the front joint.
4. Left upper triangle trim piece not aligned with the rear panel.
5. Frunk panel gap mismatch at between left and right.
6. Frunk not flushed with left and right front panel.
7. Right upper triangle trim piece not flushed at the front joint.
8. Front right wheel arch minor damage (less than 3mm).
9. Rear right wheel arch minor damage (less than 10 mm).
10. Scuff mark below CyberBeast logo on tailgate.
11. Front glass interior has weird fogging patterns.
12. White interior still has black spots from handling.
13. Front windshield needed replacement due to multiple arc scratches.
14. Truck bed top mount covers are not flushed.
15. Truck bed top plastic trim on left side has bulging.
16. Left rear door interior trim is loose
17. Top rear glass side plastric trim is loose at multiple location on both sides.
18. Right rear side door has minor misaligment.
19. top roof panel back and front side has bowing and seems seal has come off and needed replacement.
20. Interior squeaking noise from drivers seat.

Nope. The reservations will still exist until Tesla refunds them. There are still hundreds of thousands of reservations that haven't been filled yet as the holders wait for the right time, or the right price. A reservation holder will always have priority over a non-reservation holder. And if you reserved with FSD, the price of FSD will be locked in.

Meanwhile, people without reservations are already ordering and taking deliveries.

What "confirms" this idea?

Also, don't you mean that the foundation series has been exhausted? And not regular trims?

Looks like you can still order a foundation if you want to, or configure the non-foundation if you want that.

I'm looking at whether I want to configure a non-foundation beast, or an AWD foundation now. Decisions...

I say confirmed because they are now inviting someone like me, who reserved eight months after launch/first customer deliveries, to order and take delivery of a regular (non-foundation) CT within 60 days. Unless I am some special case (not), all the people on the reservation waiting list of "over 1 million" or "almost 2 million" (depending on who was speaking) that were there Nov 2023 have been invited for both foundation and non-foundation series and they are past that group and onto people like me who ordered only a few months ago. The multi-year pre-launch backlog has dissipated before the first year was out.

(Of course, it is always possible that Tesla has made a huge mistake and I am not supposed to be invited to configure a non-foundation series for another year or two, but I would note that no one has responded to this thread saying that they had an earlier US reservation and they are still waiting for an invite so...)

The conversion rate appears to be pretty low right now.

I think it’s a combination of the still premium $80k MSRP, buyers waiting for a 2025 model and a wait and see attitude regarding a future $7500 federal tax credit.

Tesla might be facing a demand problem for the Cybertruck in the next 6-12 months. I predict that the $61k RWD Cybertruck may be coming sooner than we think.

There are a ton of factors that go into new product reservation schedules. How long have you owned a Tesla vehicle? If a few years, then you would probably be far more likely to fast track a sale. Also, we are in the last quarter of the year. They are going to send out reservations that are most likely to complete the sale, not necessarily ones who reserved first.

I'll be interested at the end of the day how people's end prices end up looking. The bare bones CT kinda sucks (IMHO). It really does need some add-ons that make it nicer. Some stuff can go and is probably irrelevant like the white interior... but other stuff is really nice, such as FSD and the Premium Internet. Its nice not to have to get a nickel-dime bill for connectivity each month... it reminds me of bag fees for airlines... just include it in the price so you don't get that feeling like your wallet is getting picked from monthly (can you tell I hate subscriptions?). I own big trucks and I like beefy tires... the AT tires are a must, especially if you plan on really doing off-roading with it. So at the end, my price on a CT wouldn't be too far off from what I got a Foundation Series for. This is all my opinion of course and YMMV. I'm interested where other folks final price lies.

I think the bare-bones CyberTtuck is perfect..

why would I want to ā€˜finance’ floor mats, wheels/tires, and all the other little accessories?

that being said, I’m happy with the $10/month for premium connectivity… or just use my phone and key-card if push comes to shove.

FSD isn’t quite to my liking yet.. I have owned my ModelY for a few years now and FSD is still not that…
