I did pay attention to the screens allowing access. I have also tried to forgot device, unpair, reboot in various ways about 10 times. I have also read on reddit where there are issues with Androids and MYs.
So thanks for the rude assumed response.
On an Android, when the Bluetooth connect button pops up, if you notice, there's a small checkbox that allows to share contacts and messages. Most folks are too quick to hit and miss it.

And you could have just titled the thread as "I can't get contacts or messages" as opposed to an inflammatory title.

I am not sure what you mean. Go to main phone settings? then the messages app? I don't see tesla anywhere.
Go to app permissions and allow all

I have been where you are with my S23..Teslaken is right. I took his advice previously and all is good. Once you delete samsung email, your connection will operate immediately as it is supposed to.

Like I said, I did pay attention and I did allow shared contacts and messages. I redid this many times to makes sure nothing was missed.

I could have also titled it, "I can't get contacts or messages or autofrunk or sentry previews on my Android", but I thought that was too long.
I mainly just want my new truck to communicate with my phone in the same way that my other vehicles were able to do a decade ago, without having to delete default phone apps.

The messages/contacts have nothing to do with sentry mode preview.

You likely aren't getting them because you haven't had an alarm event.

Is that how it works? A normal sentry event won't push a notification (let alone an image preview), but an alarm event will?

That has been my experience. I get a ton of sentry alerts when I get in the truck, but I've only had 1 preview pushed and it was an alarm event.

When is Tesla gonna show love to Android phone users?
Test messages don't show up and I can't voice dial a contact. These are things I've been able to do for a decade in my GM.
Now the powered frunk doesn't recognize my phone either.
Samsung S23 Ultra.

I have the same phone and the things you mentioned work fine, but I haven't tried the auto-frunk open. There are setting in your Bluetooth to allow contacts/calls, but you know phone can have strange issues. I hope knowing that it works on my s23 will help somehow.

The issues I have are:

the music track image lags a song behind, I tested on different phones too, so idk if it's Android, Tesla, or Spotify.

I can't get my calendar to sync, but I'm using a corporate Google and maybe that's why.

Thanks cybergriz. Just to verify, do you have the default Samsung email app still installed?

Probably not, I definitely never used it. I use Gmail, and typically remove all Samsung stuff if I can. I do not have a Samsung account. I don't use CT for email.

Are you using your phone's Android native messages and contacts?
I use Outlook, but Outlook goes through great pains to sync its information with the phone native apps.

We are telling you how it has worked for about 5,000,000 other people.

Samsung S23 Ultra.
Check your settings. Turn your Bluetooth off and on again. Works on my Samsung 10+ and Pixel 9. I use all features including streaming music through my phones music apps.
