Oooooooo political Crissa ? Hmmm .. strike! you can’t talk about the owner and builder of the company ?
Go dodgers ! Can I say that or no ? This message will disappear in 3-2-1….
Look, the price change from the average truck can explain nearly all of the drop off in interest from the reservations.

But we don't have to talk politics to realize that Elon's recent gullibility (let alone his politics) has upset people who were his customer base.

I changed to 22182 zip code and no Cybertruck shows up. Why would Tesla not display if they have 100 left in inventory.
Tesla is still operating in a reservations-needed mode; first come, first serve model for the Cybertruck.

Their inventory is being shuffled around to match to people who ordered them. Not every truck ordered gets picked up for all sorts of reasons, most of them financial. And not every truck built is assigned to someone while they ramp up and can make trucks of configurations that weren't ordered.

Do I think this store has a hundred Foundation Series sitting in a lot? Well... Probably not. Might they have a few? Sure.

I find it odd if Tesla has so many trucks sitting that they are not on the Tesla site like all over new vehicles are.
Again, Tesla is currently treating the Cybertruck in a reservation mode - first come, first serve.

So they're preferring to deliver these trucks to people who's already shown interest and put down money; rather than sell them at discount to people walking in off the street.

As far as has been reported, they haven't been taking Cybertrucks as trade-ins, either.

I assume in the next couple months as they get through the current wait-list, they'll add Cybertruck to the inventory list, just like they've added it to each of the promotions.

Yeah I don’t agree with the Narrative. For each person who’s upset at his views there are an equal amount of people who have become customers or like his views . To say that is indicating that there are many more people from one side vs the other side and it’s simply not true if you’re paying attention. If you buy or don’t buy a product based on someone’s views you really need to start investigating many CEOs and realize how many don’t aline with your own and realize how hypocritical you are being to one CEO but buying a product that another CEO secretly agrees with the same view !
Los angels a very one sided place and has a Tesla every other car and that isn’t an exaggeration .
GO DODGERS!

I have no dog in this fight. And as far as the quantity, I have no idea.

What I can offer is I had some questions about the Cybertruck and if FSD could actually be transferred by the end of the year.

So I filled out a form and a sales rep called me. They did say that if I wanted to I could purchase a foundation series right now and they had some inventory in Pennsylvania.

I suspect Tesla’s website is not updated to show Cybertruck inventory.

I suspect there are a few left and they secretly offer them to a few people but I doubt it’s “omg what will they do there are 1000s not sold “ .

Tesla's record Q3 deliveries were for all models combined and the Cybertruck makes up an insignificant portion of them. In other words, the record deliveries prove that Elon is not alienating buyers overall, he's still bringing new buyers in faster than any butthurt leftists he's alienated.
Tesla deliveries in 3Q 2024 were up 6% over 3Q 2023, making it their best 3Q ever. That may sound good, but there is one detail that Tesla left out.

Tesla has three major markets: the US, Europe, and China. Tesla has not provided a breakdown, but independent analysts suspect that those record 3Q 2024 numbers are entirely due to China (where EV sales are booming), and that sales in the US and Europe were flat or down.

If this is correct, then Elon is not alienating buyers in China, where people are used to a Communist system of government. However, buyers in western democracies may have a different take.

I just called my local Tesla SS as I am impatiently waiting on my Non FS. Lady told me that we have more than 100 FS AWD and Beast available for immediate delivery for anyone willing to pay $20k more. I ordered my non fs two months ago and still waiting. Convincing my wife to be onboard with FS ☺
I recommend FS. You’re gonna regret not having FSD if you don’t get it. Game changer. The subscription break even is 6.5 years and I’m keeping that truck forever. Plus you will end up buying a bunch of accessories anyway making the difference not that much. Do whatever makes sense but I’m more than happy with FS.

If Elon is alienating liberals, then you might expect to see falling Tesla sales in California. California is easily the biggest EV market in the US; it was an early, enthusiastic adopter of Tesla vehicles; and it obviously leans left politically.

As it happens, we have good data for auto sales in California, because the California New Car Dealers Association (CNCDA) publishes numbers every quarter, based on DMV new vehicle registrations. So how have Tesla sales been doing over the past year?

4Q 2023: down 9.8 % (relative to 4Q 2022)
1Q 2024: down 7.8 % (relative to 1Q 2023)
2Q 2024: down 24.1 % (relative to 2Q 2023)
3Q 2024: down 3.5 % (relative to 3Q 2023)

For the first three quarters of 2024, Tesla sales are down 12.3 % relative to the first three quarters of 2023, even with the addition of the Cybertruck to their product lineup. No sales records here.

If California EV buyers are turning away from Tesla, then who would you expect to benefit? The first name that comes to my mind is "Rivian". Guess what -- Rivian sales in California have jumped by 35.4 % so far this year.

Here is the CNCDA's take on current Tesla sales in California:
Tesla’s Model Y remains the top-selling car in California year-to-date, but the company’s sales continue to slip, losing 8.5 percent market share compared to last year. This marks a full year of registration declines for Tesla in California, leaving the “alternative powertrain door” open for traditional automakers. ... Brands like Kia, BMW, and Hyundai have gained traction ... Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 is now the third best-selling BEV in California.
The CNCDA is probably biased against Tesla due to their "direct to consumer" sales model, which cuts out dealers. Tesla isn't the only car company with this model; companies like Rivian and Polestar do it too, but Tesla is the biggest target. Nonetheless, the CNCDA's numbers are considered accurate, and they are not great for Tesla no matter you spin them.

It's been claimed that the Cybertruck is the #3 best selling EV in the US, behind the Model Y and Model 3. In California, however, the Cybertruck is currently also being outsold by the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

It is apparently still possible for Tesla to deliver FS Cybertrucks, because the Tesla website is still accepting FS orders from Canadian and Mexican customers, with estimated delivery in November-December 2024. So either there is significant FS inventory stashed away somewhere, or else Tesla is still manufacturing FS for those markets.

Canadian FS Cyberbeast is CAD $169,990 (about US $122,000)
Canadian FS AWD is CAD $137,990 (about US $99,000)

Mexican FS Cyberbeast is 2,599,900 pesos (about US $130,000)
Mexican FS AWD is $2,199,900 pesos (about US $110,000)

Canadian FS prices seem close to those in the US, but it appears that there is a US $10,000 markup for FS in Mexico. No non-Foundation options in those countries as yet.
