Does anyone know if you can stand on the tailgate to reach items in the Cybertruck bed? Can you sit on an open tailgate. I can’t seem to find the answer and/or weight restrictions for the tailgate.

This is a truck made for truck people doing truck things. It would be a laughable joke if you couldn’t sit on the tailgate ?

They sell ramps for it rated at 750lbs a piece:
https://shop.tesla.com/product/cybertruck-tailgate-ramp

I loaded an electric zero-turn-radius mower with ramps (570lbs).

NOTE** Make sure your cables stop your tailgate at 90° or you will bend your tailgate. Another owner's tailgate cables didn't come correctly installed and it bent their tailgate.

I jump up on mine regularly to clean, load and unload the bed

On a related question... How about weight on the bumper and use as a step?

I tried to find this out when I was loading a golf cart in, and the tires would rest on the gate while driving or hauling in a trailer. Tesla just said they dont have a capacity rating but it "should" be fine with a golf cart weighing about 1K lbs with about 40% sitting on the gate while driving.

That said, I did see a post of somebody having a heavy load that slid back further and bent the gate...it had to be VERY heavy IMO...

To your question about sitting/standing I think all of this would be fine.

Were you able to close the tailgate? I'm about to go buy a 42" Ryobi zero turn and wanted to load it into my Cyberbeast. Any damage to your tailgate?

I didn't close the tailgate just strapped it down. There was no damage. The guy backed it up the ramps but probably shouldn't have it was squirrelly. At home I backed up next to a dirt hill with a piece of wood and drove it off. Just make sure before you go, your cables are holding your tailgate at 90 degrees.

I am leary about getting ramps to do this. I’m going to borrow a trailer and haul it that way. Do you like your Ryobi Zero turn?
