They claimed they returned them due to a cosmetic issue and I wonder if that is the case. I am emailing them now.

Ok... I sent the email to A2Z... and they called me back within minutes. Here is the skinny:

A2Z owns the design on these and is produced in China. Theirs are UL certified for safety because they are DC only. Thus why the flap and th button are gone. The other companies use their design but they wanted it AC/DC (i.e. to be able to use it as a J1772 style adapter). So they made those companies (i.e. the ones everyone else who has the flap, etc) sign a waver that they are not certified. Directly from A2Z:

A2Z one is different on the inside. It is made to pass UL2252 certification. If someone doubts this, they can open the adapters and compare, it is a lot different.
It makes me feel a bit better on this.

So are the L1 L2N pins (for AC charging) not there?

Just used A2Z CCS1 to NACS adapter at a 350 kW Electrify America charger. Arrived preconditioned with 33% SOC. Charge rate started at 246kW. Suspect it would have been higher if I had started charge with a lower % SOC. Highly recommend the A2Z Cybertruck adapter. Very happy with purchase.

Would be nice to see if anyone can pull 350+ kw from low SOC from any of these adapters. I finally got mine to work at an EA station after having trouble with a chargepoint station but I couldn’t test speed since I was at high SOC.

@Boyne how do you precondition? Mine does that if it knows I’m heading to a Supercharger, but doesn’t seem to know about other chargers.

I went to charge at Electrify America in Gaylord Michigan which is co-located with Tesla superchargers. I input to the navigation system the destination of the Tesla Supercharger at that location which caused the truck to precondition the battery and then on arrival used the Electrify America chargers instead.

Thanks for the explanation. Maybe Tesla will provide a different way for more situations.

No flap came with it. It’s possible this was the “cosmetic defect” that they said they didn’t send them on.
Have you used this at the Durango or pagosa ccs charger? I cant get my adapter to initiate the station so might have to spend the night in Pagosa ?‍♂?

No… I have L2 home charging. Monticello will be my test in 10 days. Is this the A2Z? I sure as heck hope it works. Did you try it at the Durango transit station? That’s the CCS DC charger everyone uses.
