Any thoughts or recommendations on the best insurance provider for a new cybertruck? Tesla insurance is ~$218 which is a bit high so wondering what other people are paying and what other companies people recommend - thanks!

No such thing as best. You need to shop around, it all depends on your history, where you live and even what you use it for. I’m paying around 800 for six months with Progressive with just me on the car.

Wawanesa. A few times after they raised rates, I compared prices with other insurance providers; no one could touch them. IMO, worth at least getting a quote.

I was in shock as well and shopped around the best prices from the companies listed in other posts. $75 - $229 month was the range for me. Was a USAA customer but they came back with $190 a month quote. Went with Progressive via a AAA insurance agent.

Around $1050 / 6 months near Seattle with State Farm. Several discounts applied but I also pay the ā€œwest coast lax on crimeā€ penalty.

This question has no answer. Auto insurance uses so many metrics for pricing, that the same person can pay different amounts even if their address changes by one block. Unfortunately, when it comes to insurance you have to do some legwork. Also, when you say best do you mean cheapest? Or one that provides good service? Nobody wants to pay more than they have to, but I don't want hassles when I need to use their services. Just my $.02

Why not look into Tesla insurance ?

Tesla insurance has always been the cheapest for me with my M3 and cyber truck. I believe triple A was double almost. It’s like $700 for my 2023 M3 and $1600 for my CT
A year I recently went in the app and dropped the miles down and saved another $40 a month
My CT is the same as I was paying on my 2015 2500 diesel with triple A

S. Cal here too. I'm paying $208/mo. with Costco insurance. Rip-off but the best I could find. Tesla Insurance was even higher. Perfect driving record too. I drive 15k/yr

None of these quotes really matter without context. I've gotten insane quotes from companies that end up being the best for someone in a completely different state.

Figure out what coverage you want, build a list, and start calling/running quotes.

Everyone I’ve known with it says they don’t like it. Guess they monitor your driving and can increase your premium at any time for what they deem as dangerous driving…. Or so I’m told. Southern California insurance isn’t cheap - I wonder how much cheaper Tesla would actually be.

I always thought that had to do with the spot in your app that says ā€œsafety scoreā€ and they can collect data on your vin but I didn’t sign up for it. I’m sure they can raise your rate if you go over the miles you wrote down sense it’s all digitally sent . For me that part is a non factor as I have a few vehicles I split my miles up for that reason. It is nice though that you can go into the app drop your miles down and it automatically changes your rate. It’s worth a look.
