Depending on how fast, but I think it definitely would. If you fell asleep the regen would slow the truck down. And recently I had a person abruptly stop on the highway as I looked to another lane, my CT hit the brakes before I could. As I tried to hit the brake there was no resistance on the brake pedal because my truck had did it on its own.
Given the damage to the Silverado, and its driver leaving on a stretcher, I'd say the CT 'won'. It may not be drivable after the fact, but I'd rather have been in it than the Silverado.
