First time Tesla owner? ?
Thanks

Nop.. I have had 4 Teslas... This is no 5... So I know exactly what to expect. I love this company and the cars are the best in the world BUT when we see something wrong we should point it out. it will make the company better :) And this particular topic is both frustrating and "seems" much easier to solve than solving the actual FSD :)

Did not have that issue neither on my Y nor on my 2 X’s… I was lucky I guess. It just bags me that this is a simple software issue that is in the full control. Upon delivery flag the vin for update…

Thanks for your POV. Don’t appreciate the tone but thanks regardless.

I am totally chilled ? , just pointing out that a company I love can be better on something as simple as this. And wanted to understand how long does it usually take. Thats

I understand what I need to do and I have owned Teslas for 6 years so yes I do know how it works.

I adore Tesla and never moving to another vehicle but that does not mean we should not point out when something is done the wrong way.

I could have gotten the Cyber 4 months ago and I did not specifically because I wanted the FSD to first be available as I drive a lot.

So thanks again for the pointers!

enjoy the car!
I think it is completely reasonable to be upset about how Tesla is handling this. As a Tesla newbie I love this sight, but it is clearly full of a ton of VOGON's. They are like whipped dogs that because they have been treated poorly believe that everyone else should suffer. To me it makes no sense that FSD should not be on your truck at the time of delivery. I too love my cybertruck. I am a huge Elon fan. I have a funny feeling that if he knew about your experience he would say "that's stupid" and then quickly fix the problem. Not to be cruel, but the self driving is a complete gamechanger for me. I hated to wait for 6 months for it, but I routinely use it to drive me for hours at a time and to me it works amazingly well. Congrats on owning the best truck ever made, and welcome to our small but growing community!

greetings to fellow Cybertruck community. I understand that Some Cybertrucks are delivered with factory settings which might delay software updates including FSD. This appears to be a common issue where the vehicle needs to be "tagged" or flagged for updates by Tesla's system. I have had the car for a week and no updates pushed so even though I am paying for FSD I still don’t even have the basic version of it. Outside of the fact that this makes no sense (the car was delivered so why would it be in “factory software”?), and the fact that I have been explicitly told by Service that they have no idea how to fix because the “engineering team” is not providing them with updates on this particular issue, do you guys have any idea how long does it usually take for this to be remedied? Any insight welcomed!
Some tips to get your truck to update to the latest software.
- Connect it to WIFI.
- Turn on advanced updates. In Controls > Software, you can choose how quickly you want to receive updates that are ready for your vehicle. Be an early adopter by selecting Advanced (which will have additional releases)

Congrats! You were on 38.100? I’m still on 32.100, VIN 48XXX. I checked yesterday morning in the truck and no update. I’m not checking again today until I get home and connected to WiFi in the worry that nothing shows up and mu 24 hour clock starts over again. Nothing showing in the app yet.

Got home and connected to WiFi. Checked for update. Still nothing. Annoying as TeslaFi is showing downloads for 50XXX+ VINs and I’m sitting here at 48XXX on 32.100 still.

1. Ensure the CyberTruck is on an active Wi-Fi network
2. Reboot the computer. Hold down left and right scroll wheels until logo appears.
3. Hit Controls > Software and download should appear in several minutes.
4. Download
5. Install
It took 30-45 minutes to get updated from 12 what it came from the factory with and I had only 9 miles on my Truck when I got it. (I also had to drive about 15 miles to let my cameras calibrate first. The update took me to 12.5.5 build 39.5

I am also on 2024.32.100. The software update that includes free spotify is on 2024.38 and you can see that here... https://www.notateslaapp.com/software-updates/version/2024.38.2/release-notes

I had my free month immediately activated as well. Logic is not in play here. I paid for FSD in full $7k. Just wait and be patient. Plenty of other threads on reddit (and here) where people are trying to force and request the latest updates from service after taking delivery. It's no longer possible like it was years ago. It's been explained directly from tesla that the first big initial update (which includes FSD) is staged by vin and done in waves to help server congestion. Can happen days or 3-4 weeks after delivery.

Lots of newer features like the spotify app update will come along with it. See link.
Update… 2 weeks to the day I received our CT and this morning I was alerted to the update that needed to be installed!
