Hey Guys,
I just got the update on Nov 23. Drove from Boston to DC to visit family and probably had 1/3 of the trip on fsd, especially on NJ Turnpike.
Overall I feel the sudden stopping and takeoff is a lot better. Also, in general the hugging left side of the lane is better

Also, if you have acceleration set to chill, the takeoff and stopping is even more gentle
Overall I think it’s getting better for sure

I got jailed for the first time last night. The truck wasn't sure what to do with a semi-truck weaving in and out of its lane. When appropriate I accelerated about 10mph faster to get by it. Less than 10 minutes later it was being stupid and locking a car in behind another semi-truck, I forced it to accelerate again quickly. It did the flashing red steering wheel and yelling at me to take over. When I did it told me it was unavailable for the rest of the trip.

Interesting, people have said they didn't know why it jailed them so I figured I'd share my experience.

On a broader update note from the trip. It did do better than 12.5.5.2 overall and it does speed up better and maintain the speed better in general. It seems like after a while it will inch the speed down to see if you are still paying attention. A couple of times I looked down to see I was doing 6 or 7 mph slower than I was setting it at. It does now have a jerk occasionally on the high way, like its a quick break because it thinks it sees something but then an instant later it acts like there was never anything there. Not violent just a quick jerk.

I just want more natural turns and acceleration that matches speed limits at a minimum...ASS sounds like a fun gimmick compared to constantly improving FSD...
ASS won’t work safely until they get FSD…fitted…to CT. Seems like they don’t have the CT model fully realized yet for whatever reason. Just my guess. Have ASS on my MX. Played with it twice then never again. Kinda like self parking, which I never use either.

I do see times when i would use it. In the Rain, snow, Heat. Well, that is alot of the time...but I dont use Self park way to slow.

I just did a 600 mile drive from Florida to North Carolina with the update.

Seems like the lane centering is mostly fixed now so that's good.

It's better at approaching stopped traffic but still a little fast sometimes. I had to hit the brake twice.

It's still reading the minimum speed 40 signs in Georgia as the speed limit. Luckily it plowed through most but did drastically slow down for one of them.

Local road in NC it thinks is a 25 mph limit and it's 55. No sign posted so it must be going on incorrect map data.

Biggest problem for me now is that it's still making dumb lane change decisions. On two different instances it had .03 miles to an exit and it tried 2 times to pass a semi. No way did it have room for that. I had to take over. Also, it still hangs or stays in the left lane, but not always. I had to hit the blinker 5-10 times to get it over. Hopefully the future improvement that aren't here yet fix this.

I generally agree with everything here based on the trip I just took.

Just got it two days ago…
Positives:
- the smoothness is incredible… human like if not better.
- decision making in taking exits in highways improved a lot…
- assertive in city driving when it needs to change multiple lanes etc.

It is getting more and more human like!
Negatives:
1. It basically wanted to run a left turn red light TWICE (I stopped it when it started turning) while it froze twice on a green light for a right turn. Which means it gets confused when traffic lights are opposite colors for different directions in the same intersection.
2. It stays way too left on the lane in the highway.. when you are on the left lane it basically drives ON THE YELLOW LINE which is borderline dangerous if the wall is close…
3. It will not accelerate past the speed limit (at least not in a similar way as the assertive mode previously and that despite the setting on relative offset being at + 10 miles) in highway unless you nudge it… and it favors staying on the right lane even if the other lanes are open. Never did that before….
4. In U-turns or close turns it underestimates the turning radius so it corrects itself while turning…

hopefully all these will be fixed in the next version… in the meantime extra careful out there…

12.5.6.2 soon? I am thinking just wait until 13.5.3.6.1 and it will all start to get better,

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

So i downloaded FSD for the first time and haven’t used it yet. But now the truck is like ultra scaredy-cat about prudent driving measures like swerving to avoid a giant pothole and it sets off the “take control immediately” sort of like “danger will robinson… warning warning!!” but the funny thing is i was in control. I was driving. It wasn’t on FSD mode. I just had navigation on. What’s the deal with that? It’s frankly annoying AF. The warning goes off seemingly forever over and over for like 10-15 seconds when now the issue is like 200 feet behind me and it’s still doing it. And why would it tell me to take control when i was always in control and never had FSD engaged at all in the first place?

Thoughts?

Cheers

After a few days with it I would say the main improvement is it stays centered in the lane much better. I'm glad they got that fixed at least.

Still doesn't go on green lights sometimes and also goes way too fast towards red lights and traffic. I guess we will be waiting until V13 for any major improvements.

Just drove another 8 hours with it last night. The biggest thing I notice on that drive is how scared it is of semi-trucks. During the day its a little gun shy and moves over a bit. At night though, I had to stop it several times from going over the yellow line into the breakdown lane (split highway). Unlike with my jailed event most of these semi-trucks were having no problem staying in their lanes.
It even moves over a little for cars and trucks but not terrible. During most all of these events it should just maintain its position in the center of its lane. There is no danger.

Sounds like you have RH drive software ?, there is hope.

I got this update last week end. It's dangerous. Multiple problems were encountered while using it on a single 14 mile drive. I disengaged it each time these occurred.
* It attempted to run a red light.
*Drove on left shoulder entering the freeway.
*Missed a right turn then tried to turn into opposing traffic.
* At a busy intersection that was stalled it pulled forward into the intersection blocking all cross traffic.
This was unlike the previous update and not at all safe.

Similar, also testing whether my posts are still banned (don't know the reason).
