Hi Everyone,

Just joined the forums as I'm 90% convinced to purchase a CT but was hoping to get some owners' opinions on it.

Quick background:
  • I've test driven it (about a month ago) and loved it.
  • Currently own a 2020 Model Y (with purchased FSD)
  • We also have a 2024 Model 3 (w/FSD)
  • CT woudl be replacing my Y
  • I live in New England (Greater Boston area)
Questions: (in the title but posting here too)
  1. One of the biggest discussion / contention points for my wife is the size of the truck. Our 2-car garage measures 24' 7" (w) x 22' 9" (l). I've taken the CT's length and measured how deep into my garage it would go...and it would fit but leave only about 2 feet of space from the back wall to the truck.
    1. I'm not too concerned about the width as it's only a few inches wider than the Y and my garage width is about 8.3 feet wide (luckily, my garage openin isn't too narrow)
  2. For those of you who switched from a Y, what are your thoughts? Any regrets?

As for use cases for the CT, it would just be fulfilling the average crossover SUV owner's use cases. The only real reasons where I'd need the 6' bed is for: hauling my motorcycle to the race track (would be a lot easier than towing my small trailer with the Y), the occasional times when we need to haul some big items.

There’s cameras on this one too… you can easily park when you have 2ft to play with. You’re already a Tesla owner and have taken a test drive, you should know it’s the greatest vehicle ever conceived by now. Like, what are you even asking? Just get it and hurry up so you can transfer FSD. You only have days to do that, not months.

I car camped for 9 days in Colorado in my Model Y. It was splendid. This summer is going to be different trying to do it in the CT. I’m
Thinking L get a tarp or something similar to provide elemental protection in the bed.

Once you get acclimated to the size of the truck vs the Y, you'll be fine. And all the cameras will help to park for sure. Just don't try the auto park feature, I've not had good luck with that in a tight spot - or I'm just to chicken to trust it.

I’ve never trusted auto-park on any vehicle or the last two cars I’ve owned.

Curb-rash is a thing I hate with every piece of my soul…

We have all three (3/Y/CT) and there isn’t anything about the other two I prefer over the CT aside from MAYBE the ridiculous quickness of my M3P.

As for size…

This pic is super awesome, thanks!

Looks like you have a good amount of room behind your CT. Assume your garage is deeper than 22 feet? Maybe not.

If I didn’t have 2 motorcycles against the back wall, my wife would have no issue with having enough room getting around the CT…

I took CT on a demo drive and parked it in my garage to make sure it fits. I have one feet of space (6ā€ front and 6ā€ back). This is more than enough for me. I’m taking the delivery of my Beast this week. 2 feet is more than enough IMO. You should be fine!

That’s what I’m telling my wife but she still feels it’ll get in the way when she needs to do things in the garage lol

Let’s not forget CyberTruck was ā€˜redesigned’ to fit in an average 20ft garage.. may be tight but should fit, barely ??
