I use touch car washes. Not a problem whatsoever. Put it in neutral to get pulled through. Don’t worry about car wash mode - neutral won’t let the charge port open or anything else that could cause an issue.
Climate control switches to closed-loop for the air intake, which may turn out to be a big deal like it is on the Model 3 and Ys at least. You never want to allow water into the a/c filters nor would you want to take a chance and carwash mode prevents that 100%.

I’m surprised it works for non-touchless car washing given all of the edges. Even when I wash it myself by hand, the cloth or sponge gets hooked in the outer trim, especially those small front side windows. I had also heard that many car wash places won’t let you take your truck through.

Here’s what the manual says:

Everything you need is on the "Controls" screen, which you must open just before entering the car wash. You can put the truck in car wash mode beforehand, as I do, but don't go over nine mph, or else it will exit.

Once in car wash mode, you pull into the tunnel and get ready to press the brake pedal just a bit so you can then press "Enable Free Roll", which is another name for Neutral. There are two other methods to get into Neutral, but this is the easiest one, provided you push the brake pedal very lightly, as most car wash tunnels will have a tractor that engages behind the front driver-side wheel. If you are not in neutral when the roller comes into contact with the back side of the driver-side front wheel, the roller will get pulled under the wheel, as the CT will not let the tire roll unless you are in neutral. I can't tell you how many Tesla owners are not prepared to shift to Neutral where I live, and then you see the driver's side of their car bump up a bit only for them to usually stop the tractor until the driver gets it right.

If you can find a street with a slight downhill grade, practice this on it with nothing in front of you. You will get the hang of it before sitting in front of a car wash tunnel.
Thank you, perfect description. ✅

I also had one car wash energize the system before I was ready. It sounded horrible and I screamed at them to stop as I selected free roll. I now tell them not to enable the conveyor until I give them two thumbs up.
Had the same experience with my Model 3 on a trip at a Rocket car wash. Unlike my local wash, these guys never stopped the conveyor, and just did nothing as cars entered. My local wash stops the conveyor, and does some minor prep, like spraying for heavy bugs, etc.

To put it in neutral, above your head, you’ll see the letters of “R,N,D” and hazard “red triangle”, just touch the “N” and it goes into Neutral.

i use a touch wash often, no issues. Now that I have it wrapped, the company said I shouldnt use touch brush car washes with a vinyl wrap (bummer), so now im using touchless.
I recommend you use car wash mode and free roll on the screen

I’ve been told by a few car washes that the cloth from the touch car wash could snag on the exterior. And some other washes won’t allow the CT due to the tire size. (They also don’t let gas/diesel lifted or altered trucks/Jeeps either.) I’m just sharing my experiences, of course.

Touchless for all cars, then rinse and wax at home. For CT - touchless and then home with sprayway and microfiber cloth.

Unless you don’t mind swirls on your clear coat.

Car Wash. must we use touchles car washes? Or, can we use touch type?
Guys and gals. Today was the first day I took my CT through an automated car wash. All other times I’ve washed it at a hand wash location.
It all turned out to be okay be cause I did not wash it in those car washes that have belt-like ropes washing the vehicles. I asked the car wash attendant to allow me to go in and touch the strings that wash the cars, and she allowed me to do so.
this is one of those carwash places that have the little strings touching the cars/trucks and that does a good job washing the Cybertruck.
However, you must make sure it’s one of the car washes that have the thin strings, not the belt-like ones.
When you do opt to wash it there, make sure you tell them NOT to add sealant or sealer I believe they call it.
Also, it’s a very good idea to avoid armor all in the tires. Otherwise, you work m will end up washing the truck for nothing. What I do whenever I want the tires to shine a bit is I ask the person to damp a towel with a little bit of armor all and just rub it against each of the tires (some of them take a can of armor all and a brush and soak the tire in armor all. This isn’t good). After that, drive slow and straight for as long as you can until the excess armor all dissipates from the tires.

I posted again this type of car wash near me if you can find one in your area:

- No car wash mode.
- No neutral.
- No free roll.
- No brushes.
- No conveyors.
- All high water pressure wash.

I subscribe monthly membership with everything: wax, polish, clear coat, undercarriage ... I know it's stainless steel but those things help my plastic, rubber, ... look black, shiny.

I just "Drive" into the tunnel and Stop like waiting at a red light, wait for all the cycles done and go home to dry off a little more with Costco microfiber towels.

7 minutes touchless car wash.

Why would you not use car wash mode for a high pressure wash?

What is it for? I haven't used it, or any of the above, since the beginning with no problem whatsover.
Car Wash mode just makes sure everything is closed and folds in the mirrors, if you want them folded in. That’s all.
Evidently, people still drive into car washes without knowing if their windows are up. Ha
I always see people driving away from gas pumps either their gas caps off, so it’s a thing.
