No … I should have ordered the Beast …
You can go aftermarket. Probably more options coming out soon
I don’t regret not ordering the beast. It would have just been a vanity buy for me. I rarely drive far so don’t need the extra motor and I live in LA with traffic so I can’t drive it fast as intended.

At least make it a FS only. Come on ?
You all laugh but some one is going to trade me for my wheel covers ?
Oh wow! I just remembered and this is important:

Whoever stated that the factory light bar is a FS CyberBeast exclusive said that it won’t even be recognized if you try to install it on a non-beast. Like there’s some sort of identifier hardcoded something that prevents it from being used.

That sounds extreme to me but it was suggested that some service center tried and could not get it to power up because of this.

So please make sure you research it before you trade somebody for something you, allegedly, can’t use.

@Jack27, I was right it was @Guylouis. I found it, here it is:

According to my Service Manager the off-road light bar will ONLY be available for the foundation series cyberbeast

They even attempted to wire one up to a foundation series AWD to see if it will work and said that the “wiring was incompatible”

Seems this will stay as an exclusive feature for the Original FS Beasts.

That’s wild. You would think it won’t be that complicated to figure out what wire does what , I mean it would make sense if on the non beast they didn’t add the wires or it on the hardware. I guess I don’t need it that bad ?

I had my lightbar installed on 12/10. Here's OCDetailing's vid on it.

So here are the cons:

1) It is basically permanently attached to the windshield. The service advisor warned me that if I need to replace the windshield, I will also have to replace the lightbar. He believes that if you bring it to Tesla for the windshield replacement, then they should technically replace the lightbar.
2) The light coverage is not that great. It is far from an aftermarket lightbar that you would get installed on a normal truck that lights up the world in front of you. The main light is a narrow beam that is aimed slightly above the headlights. The ditch lights are something you would use if you needed to read a street sign that is 90 degrees off your front bumper. The headlights on high beam are so much better.
3) It interferes with the airstream so you lose some efficiency. I saw some YouTuber say that it was about 10%, which seems extreme because that's about the loss you would expect from getting new wheels. Although there is a cumulative effect if you have the lightbar and different wheels.

Pros:

1) It looks cool.
2) If the headlights get covered by snow/mud/ice, then the lightbar is a great backup. However, the beam is so narrow that you would lose peripheral vision.

So, if you really need a lightbar for offroad, I would suggest an aftermarket solution.

•Wiring Compatibility: All Cybertruck models (FS, Non-FS, Beast, AWD) have the same wiring for the OEM off-road light bar.

•Activation Requirements: The light bar will not activate unless a back-end configuration change is completed.

•Configuration Change Timeline: The configuration change can take up to 24 hours to go live after installation. Once active, a pop-up will appear on the screen stating, “Light bar installation complete.”

•Redesign Rumors: No confirmation about a redesigned light bar yet, but if a new version is released and deemed superior, I’m hoping Tesla Service will replace the original free of charge if needed.

Foundation Series Beast Gang – Off-Road Lightbar Installation Guide

Hey everyone,

I’m sharing this here so you all have a clear understanding of the steps to get this accessory installed.

Why trust this?
This method has worked for me on both of my beasts, several friends in different states, and countless other members on this forum. It’s a straightforward and proven process.

Step-by-Step Guide:
1. In your app – Create a service request.
2. Select Upgrade & Accessories.
3. Choose Accessory Installation.
4. In the request, type: “Install Off-Road Lightbar.”

What happens next?
This request triggers the parts department to order the off-road lightbar specifically for your VIN.

Pro Tips:
• You don’t need to interact with your advisor. They likely won’t know if you’ve received the parts email or not, and it’s not necessary for this process.
• If the lightbar isn’t in stock, expect about a two-week wait for your Service Center to receive it.

Enjoy your upgraded Cyberbeast

I did that, also...I have the wheel covers, they installed them, but no lightbars.

I talked to them about several weeks ago and they told me I had to create a scheduled service request and they would order the light bar and set me up with a time. I don't know what that timeframe will be but I have a couple things for them deal with anyway and don't want to bother till after the holidays as its a couple hour drive.

10% seems a bit extreme for range impact but I guess we'll find out. vs. For free, struggling why I'd go aftermarket!

I agree, if it is "free" (since it was incorporated into our purchase price), it is hard to pass up. But if you have a specific offroad purpose, it will most likely not fulfill that purpose. Also, as the service advisor agreed, if, for some reason, Tesla replaces your windshield, they most likely will have to cover a new light bar - a third party will not and, if you've had the wonderful experience that I have with Tesla customer service, it may be a fight to get Tesla to put a new one on at no cost.

If you are trying to purchase one to put on a non-Cyberbeast, then maybe an aftermarket is better.

No joy for me, or is there? I received two messages. The first one said no services required as they don’t have needed parts. The second one was an actual appointment to have it installed on December 31. I don’t know what that means. Maybe it means that they expect the parts in by December 31. I’ll show up to the appointment and see what happens.

for those that are getting rejections using the exact method that I suggested please post your month of delivery and which service center is denying you
My delivery date was mid October, and my service center is in Boise, Idaho.
