I'm so upset.
I was rear-ended by someone last night. The other driver slammed into the back of my CT due to being distracted (cellphone). She never even slowed down.

Now I have to wait 3 weeks to find out if there is structural damage to the rear of the CT.

I researched online but haven't found anyone document their experiences with this type of accident so here I am.

The number of people I see heads down using a cellphone while driving is bonkers. DND while driving is one of my favorite features on my phone. Sucks that happen to you. Did she try to say anything other than I was on my cellphone?

She was either in shock, under the influence, suffering from a concussion, or very socially awkward. She stood like a statue and just stared at me. She didn't ask me anything or say anything to me. It was a very strange and awkward few moments before the police arrived. That made me even more upset. She could have at least apologized for the accident but instead she decided to remain silent.

You can see the cell phone in her hand in this pic!

This is my number one case for autonomous driving. How long until FSD is as good as the world’s best driver? Could be never.

But it’s already better than a lot of people, and those tend to be the ones that cause accidents.

Wow, she was going a crazy speed. No VBAM to warn her.

No injuries but I'd love to sue purely for punitive damages. This woman was about to obliviously drive through an intersection and possibly kill someone.
Insurance exists for a very specific reason and you should find an attorney to make sure you are made whole.

I pray it's just a new bumper. You can see the tailgate has a mark from the other car's grill. But I believe it's just dirt, there's no scratch or dent on the tailgate.
To my untrained eye, it looks like just bumper damage.

Agreed. It's a hell of a lot better than the drivers that are the problem, and that's HUGE.

(The rest is just me "agree-ranting" when I should just get out of bed and make a coffee and start the day, not me "tellin you what's what" or anything, just sick of people driving like shit)

It doesn't matter if FSD can never win the "Safest Driver of the Year" award (though I believe it would dominate this hypothetical award category), because we don't need it to substitute for the best drivers.

For every time FSD takes over driving for when people text, drink, are pissed off, cry, stargaze, press buttons, can't see well, fall asleep, are experiencing a medical emergency, rubberneck, reach for something, look in their rear view mirror to smile at their kids in the back seat... that's a safer road for everyone every time.

Yea, that's why I'm particularly curious about the rear crumple zone on the CT.
