If the wiper storage cubby is on the sides, how do you keep the vertical wiper from filling up the cubby with snow & ice or if cubby has a cover, piling snow & ice blocking the cover?
True. Some sort of docking mechanism (bracket) would probably be better to stow it so ice and snow can't build up. Admittedly two slits that can act as a mechanical rail would be easier to implement, but I still think the magnetic version is viable with some tweaks.

Perhaps one of these ideas will make it to production. The current wiper reminds me of one of those AMG GT racers that had a massive hingeless blade right up the middle of the windscreen. I'm not bothered by what's on CT but there is room for improvement.

Doors covered in ice can be cleared of ice, Door made of steel I'm not afraid of breaking as I do it, either.

-Crissa
windshield wipers trapped under a frozen panel could be a real suck-fest to release at -30.

This is probably what EM means when he talking about the difficulties in trying to stow the wiper in the frunk. This whole assembly still has a mechanical wiper arm that needs to stow somewhere. Putting it under the frunk only works if the back of the frunk hood would popup up each time it needs to wipe, making it all unnecessarily complex, especially for alignment and pedestrian safety etc, in comparison to a "magnetic" wiper option, at least in my opinion.

Back in 1968 GM make a futuristic looking car... the 68 Corvette with disappearing wipers! I have a 69 Vett and love the way the cool narrow wiper cowl behind the back of the hood works. Its conceals the wipers until the wiper switch is turned on and the cowl comes up revealing two wipers that starts wiping the window... wipers even has the spraying fluid feature!

Now, 53 years after the cool concealed wipers, the Cybertruck needs just enough wiper to clean the view of driver and passenger... not a 30 sq ft cleaning monster that look so 1900's...an eyesore yuk...yes, I said yuk not on my futuristic truck! Remember the Cybertruck is a clean looking "state of the art" EV full of cool tricks... the wipers will have to be one more Tesla trick to get it right!
Tesla is all about safety and will make sure the wiper clears most of the windscreen - not just the part you look forward through. They will not compromise on that.

That solution is what I was thinking too. Easy to do and doesn’t disrupt the aero.

Hi all '
They could make a narrow long water tight break between the glass and the frunk with drain holes draining to the base of the vehicle with a sliding section that hides the wipers when not in use. The wipers are then hidden from view when there is no rain or snow and the low wind drag is kept.
Cheers AW.

Save the day wiper concepts

The transparent wiper blade, you never see it.

Lay flat wafer thin blade with defrost heating element that automatically engages before motion is started If too cold,

Telescoping wiper blade, retracts to a small footprint

Switchblade or stiletto wiper blade, for rough neighborhoods.

All needlessly more complicated than the next.

I have more
