Rear Ended (55MPH to 60MPH) - FSD Started Turning Wheel Prior to First Collision to Prevent a Second Collision

We were visiting the in-laws and this happens. Nobody in our Cybertruck needed a Ambulance ride. Metadata shows that FSD swerved to avoid a secondary collision with the Honda Pilot in front.

Painful thing was FSD was purchased outright along with the 0% deal. Waiting on my insurance. Other vehicle is apparently uninsured.

This is my biggest fear of having nice cars, other dipshits ruining them. And losing FSD on top of that just is depressing. On the flip side, if you had been in anything else, that rear would be completely mangled. My wifes forester was hit in a similar way and the rear was completely pushed into the rear bench.

Glad your family is all safe. Sometimes whiplash doesn’t appear till the next day.

Thank you. It has been 2 weeks since the event. Seeing the truck still in my app still brings an unfortunate sadness.

Definitely only vehicle I have in mind is another Cybertruck. Maybe a used one with FSD purchased.

Interesting side data point, after the truck went into park, the accelerator went to 77%. I don't know of any other vehicles that shift out of drive after an accident to prevent inadvertent movement .

1) hire a lawyer.
2) sue them for the value of FSD as well as diminished value.
3) ask your lawyer to request their cell phone usage records.
4) sue them for every damage your layer can think of, including garnishing wages and going after any and all personal assets to recover your losses.

I’m so sorry. So many people preoccupied these days. I am happy to know no one was injured. Wondering, did it warn you in any way that car was too close and/or coming too fast?

Yes, the truck immobilized itself after parking. Displayed a message about a steering fault. The acceleration was me trying to move out of the road right after.
