Hansshow (Tesstudio Branded) Power Running Boards Help for 2025 Cybertruck AWD

Purchased the power running boards from Hansshow about a month ago and just now getting around to install them because I was waiting on some bolts that were missing to arrive.

I’ve only gotten to removing the frunk and am not stuck on what to do with the wiring because all the wires I got are different than those in the install videos and manual. Other than the CAN wiring and the L and R cords that connect to the running boards brackets, I believe the only thing I need to connect is the red positive wire and the black fork terminal. Am I supposed to connect the red positive wire to the OEM red blue wire, and then just ground the black fork to a chasis bolt? If I did that would there be any issue with leaving that fork terminal exposed to water?

If that isn’t an option, could I just cut off the fork and wire the negative wire to the oem negative wire?

the kit also came with 3 extra pieces and a lot of extra nuts, bolts, and different style washers that I’m not sure what to do with

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I usually don’t mind messing with electrical if I have clear instructions but I’m lost here….

I got it all figured out and had it working that day and they worked the rest of the day…. but by the next morning the passenger side wasn’t working at all and the left side would go up and down in small intervals like every 3 seconds. i.e. when i open the driver door the step goes down an inch, 3 seconds later another inch, so to get all the way down it takes like 20 seconds and same to go back up.

after more research, supposedly the power converter fails and people just opt to replace that with a different brand and it’s good to go. I’ve seen some people say it fails the next day, like mine, and some weeks later.

FYI, something I wish I would have known before hand that may or may not have changed my mind… supposedly anytime the truck goes into deep sleep, which is assumed to be 12 hours of no activity, then you have to toggle the frunk power feed off then back on for the steps to work again. I can’t confirm yet, but from what I understand “no activity” means that sentry mode didn’t detect anything, you didn’t check the vehicle on the app, nothing caused the vehicle to wake. So if your truck is regularly idle for more than 12 hours then you always have to toggle the power feed, which people get used to and it becomes a habit to just toggle every time you get in car.

This is consistent with an overloaded power supply tripping out and cutting power from being overload, then cycling back on to try again is a repeated loop.
