FSD is inevitable.
The ratio of human-caused accidents per mile is one in every 460,000 miles versus crashes on auto pilot as one in 2,400,000 miles.
I look forward to it. As I age, I’m not gonna be getting any better as a driver. FSD will allow my wife and I our independence way past the time...
Combined with a trailer hitch that doesn’t mess with the departure angle, that could work. It would have to be pretty stout to avoid wobble and metal fatigue.
Probably be a better idea to have a aftermarket rear bumper with a swing-out mount.
The other obvious issue with either would then be...
4WS would allow the TCT to make hairpin turns, and even allow “crabbing“ like a tiller on a ladder fire truck.
This feature would be especially useful off road, such as with negotiating tight switchbacks on mountain roads, as well as maneuvering through older (read: European) streets.
Would...
There’s only one tailgate option so far.
A tailgate that swings down 180° would facilitate easier access to the vault / vault floor storage compartment.
Not speed; distance. If things don’t change dramatically in the next few years, it’s probable I will be frequently commuting between Florida and Colorado.
While possible, going roof rack would royally destroy the aerodynamics, as well as block view. Not to mention trying to lug a 70 pound tire up onto the roof.
The frunk is going to be waaaaaaaay too small to fit a tire.
Mounting it over the vault cover would work, but, if you have the solar...
Bro - factory stock, you’ll have a sub-11 second vehicle that’s 9 inches off the ground on 35 inch tall, 12 1/2 inch wide tires. It seems you have the option to run it slammed from the get-go.
It’s easy to wire a winch into a conventional vehicle. I wouldn’t know the first thing about wiring in to the TCT.
Fingers crossed that Elon takes these things into account.
The TCT has - stock -35” tires & a 16” ground clearance that’s surpassed only by that of a high end G-wagen.
if it’s designed like the other teslas, it’s unlikely you’re going to be able to fiddle around with wheel and tire sizes much - if at all.
All of this.⬆️⬆️⬆️
The TCT will possibly be the one of the last vehicles I ever buy - and It is going to be my retirement gift to myself.
It will facilitate and enable the adventures my wife and I will have post-retirement. We love driving the trails in the mountains of southwestern Colorado...
Can the Tesla Cybertruck Go Off-Roading?
Let's do some virtual off-roading with the Cybertruck

Much will be written about the Tesla Cybertruck, but we wanted to focus like a laser here...
I had always thought this was an eventuality, although I hadn’t expected an external speaker.
I expect at some point to get into my Cybertruck, and say “Jarvis, plan a route from here to our cabin in Colorado.“
*Paul Bettany voice: “Course laid in, sir. Are you ready to begin now?“ - and so on...
