FSD is fantastic but seems to hug the center lane marker and hugs left turns

When I had new tires installed, I was told that the truck needed alignment. It's too early to say, but so far on highways, staying in the center of the lane seems to have improved.

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

The portable pressure washer from Midnight Forest is 400 psi, so no risk of penetrating bearings, especially if kept 12" away.

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

Yes, there was dust under the frunk shell, as well, but not as much as toward the rear of the vehicle: The cabin filter will have to be replaced ($100+tax). After powering off the truck (Service>Power Off), I used compressed air to blow out as much dust as possible, then I used a wet...

    Question about CT tire types

The Cybertruck OEM tires are 285/65R20, not 285/60R20, if that makes a difference for you. Some pros and cons via Grok:

Good point. Foil tape would be best, although it's not black so as to blend with the color of the sail tops.

    Question about CT tire types

I just replaced my OEM tires with 25,500 miles driven with front and rear tires at 3mm (wear markers reached). I installed Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent tires for $2248 including alignment (Belle Tire). I chose these tires as a good compromise between off-road performance and low highway...

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

As I've mentioned in other posts, I plan to explore the beauty of the Arizona desert on extended off-road, dry and dusty trails that generate thick deposits of mud and dust on and within the Cybertruck. I'm looking for ways to minimize the detrimental impact of dust accumulation beyond power...

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

I got my Cybertruck back from Tesla today with the recall and tonneau cover repairs completed. In fact, Tesla installed a brand new tonneau cover along with new updated sail top appliques and a matching tailgate applique at no cost to me. The service manager said that the plastic wheels on the...

Overland Trip to Alaska - Follow For Updates

Today, the roads to Alaska (Alaska Highway, Yellowhead Highway, and Steward-Cassiar Highway) are paved except in sections undergoing maintenance or major reconstruction. One can expect to travel these roads safely and without damage to their vehicle. The Dempster Highway in Yukon and Northwest...

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

Good news! I received word from the Service Center that Tesla will cover the cost of repairs to my tonneau cover. The service manager said they found a bent component (not attributed to anything I did) which they will replace under warranty along with any damaged rollers. They need to order the...

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

Sounds plausible. Tesla Service told me that at least five of the plastic wheels needed to be replaced due to unusual wear.

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

I'm going to experiment cleaning the tonneau cover and tracks with my home pressure washer. Accessing the tracks might be a problem because they're impeded by the presence of the Urander bedrack. If it works, I'd consider buying a Midnight Forest Rain Basin and Rain Flare 400 psi pressure...

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

Gasoline (Petrol) in Canada was generally $1.49/liter, or $5.60/gal Canadian x 0.73 = $4.13 US, and $3.90/gal in Alaska. The cost of the trip in an ICEV getting 20 mpg would be close to $1900 versus my $1400.

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

That makes sense although some dust could get pulled into the take up compartment over time.

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

That's good to know. I'll apply that reasoning next time the tonneau won't close.

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

That's something to consider, but I wonder about its effectiveness. If you look at where dust accumulated with the sail top removed, I wonder if suction will enough to remove it. Where do you direct the blower's air stream to blow dust out of the tonneau cover tracks with the tonneau closed?

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

Yes, but maybe inadequately. I found that dust entered the vault at the gate (despite sealing the large gap at the bottom of the gate), but I also found that dust entered the vault through the gap at the rear window. There's a rubber seal that's glued to the window that I think is meant to...

Overland to Arctic Ocean Ruined My Tonneau Cover (Due to Dust)

My concern, looking forward, is how to clean out the tonneau tracks after driving a 100 miles on dusty off-road trails in the Arizona desert with Razors flying past at high speed. I'll need to do so before opening the tonneau to set up camp. Water will be in short supply. Compressed air is a...
