We’ve made it to Inuvik. It's late afternoon, the sunny skies are gone, and rain has made a return. The fair weather sure was good while it lasted. Too bad my good health didn’t last. My virus progressed to a head and chest cold with a wicked sore throat. It’s happened before...

We left the Tundra RV Campground in Tok, AK at 6:36 am with 100% charge, destination Dawson City via Chicken, AK traveling the Top of the World highway. All the scare stories about driving this route turned out to be exaggerations. The road was dry dirty/gravel with only a few...

We’re back in Tok, Alaska this morning at the Tundra RV Park. We’ll spend another night here before heading north to Dawson City, Yukon tomorrow. The weather forecast looks good for the drive to Chicken, AK and into Canada on the Top of the World Highway. The travel distance...
My truck's suspension adjustment problem has been fixed. The air valve block was replaced under warranty. FSD appears to be restored, and re-calibrating. The service at Anchorage was the best I've experienced. They went out of their way to get me back on the road quickly.
If all goes well with the repair, we will continue on to Seward, AK before making the return trip through Dawson City. A side trip on the Dempster Hwy to the Arctic Circle, Inuvik, and on to Tuktoyaktuk, NWT is still a possibility depending on weather conditions and our states of mind at the...
Well, I dropped by Tesla Service just before closing at 5 pm. I asked for an update on my Cybertruck service appointment scheduled for Sept 4th. A quick check revealed that the needed part (suspension air valve assembly) was delivered earlier that day. We arranged for me to bring my truck in...

We made it to Anchorage today, leaving Denali (Teklanika Campground) at 6am yesterday. Yesterday was at long last a mostly sunny day which allowed me to take this photo of Mt. McKinley (Mt. Denali).
We also took the park bus from our campground to East Fork. That’s as far as...

We drove from the Bear Valley Guesthouse in Stewart, BC, early in the morning of August 10, and drove to the 7 kW ChargePoint J-1772 charger at the Visitor Center. I had charged the truck to 90% the evening before at this same Level 2 charger, and wanted to top up the battery to...
I haven’t had a chance to post any updates to this site since we left Jasper Nat’l Park.
We left Jasper early morning on the 7th. We broke camp and loaded up the truck the evening before, so all we had to do was close up the rooftop tent and head out to Tim Horton’s in downtown Jasper. We each...
We set out on our 2nd attempt to overland to Alaska on August 1, making our way north from Illinois through poor air quality from the wildfires in Canada. After camping two nights in St. Malo, Manitoba, we headed west on the Trans Canada highway to Calgary, Banff, and are now camping in Jasper...
The only range extension that I'm aware of, and it's only marginally practical, is to take along a 3000 to 9000W generator with a 30A 120V or 240V outlet that accepts the Tesla Mobile Connector. When range anxiety is a possibility, I load up my Westinghouse iGen4500DF and a 30lb bottle of...
I'm leaving from Illinois (near Chicago) to Fairbanks, Alaska, Denali Nat'l Park, and Anchorage in 10 days in my CT. The plan is to travel back through Dawson City, at which point a decision to drive to Arctic Ocean will be made taking advantage of the Tesla Wall Chargers that have been install...
Thank you for informing us about your successful charging experience in BC, YT, and Alaska. I will be using my A2Z CCS1 to NACS adapter in combination with EVject on my Alaska trip next month from Illinois to Anchorage. My route plan has me traveling through Tok, AK. I got word from Stretch...
I couldn't find a nice way to lock my A2Z CCS1 to NACS adapter to a CSS1 DCFC charging connector when using EVject, so I came up with this "Lock Ring" method. DCFC CCS1 chargers in remote areas are scarce and often charge at low speeds (50 kW or less), so when leaving my truck charging...
I've also been looking into the next set of tires for my CT AWD. I still have 6mm of tread on the OEMs at 15,500 miles. I do a lot of highway driving as well as some off-roading which makes it hard to decide which tread design to go with. Duratracs, KO3s and Toyos make sense for great mud and...
What I was doing was inserting the Flo connector into the adapter with much force and then plugging the adapter into the CT charging port until the latch locking pin bottomed out. At that point I would get a message on CT's display saying "Unable to charge - Vehicle connection issue. Insert...
We're planning to reattempt our trip to Alaska in August. I want some assurance that I'll be able to fast charge at BC Hydro and Flo chargers. Flo uses the REMA connector which didn't fit the Hansshow CT adapter with the same rounded latch inlet shape as the A2Z. Hansshow returned half my...
I still have my doubts about the A2Z CT adapter because of the rounded shape of the latch opening. Have you considered enlarging the opening to allow for an easier insertion/release?
Here is a video that A2Z sent me to show that the REMA connector fits into their CT CCS1 adapter. The A2Z adapter is NOT a combo adapter, i.e., it does not function as a J1772 connector. It's also a "straight through" adapter, i.e., it does not utilize any internal electronics or contactors.
