You can use ProtectaClear, it won't hurt the plastics, but it does not have the UV Blockers that Everbrite has. Bare metals don't need UV protection like painted or other colored surfaces. That is one of the main differences between the coatings.

I would just add an Everbrite pint to your Cybertruck Specialty Kit. The ProtectaClear doesn’t have the UV blockers that are needed to protect the color of the plastic while Everbrite does.

You are correct, they were asking about protecting the plastic rocker panels which do fade over time.

Sure thing here is the link to Everbrite which is what you would need for the hard plastic on the CT. It has strong UV blockers, antioxidants and corrosion protection to protect painted metals and other hard surfaces from fading, oxidizing and corrosion.

We also make a product called Everbrite (our namesake coating) it has strong UV blockers, anti-oxidants and corrosion inhibitors. It works well on painted metals and hard plastics. All of our coatings are stable to 550 degrees and gas off around 600, so perfectly fine to use on BBQ exteriors.

Acetone also works for a pre-coating wipe and to remove.

If you do BFK and Windex you should do the whole truck, then when ready solvent wipe and ProtectaClear. It is ok to drive after a few hours but is delicate for 4-5 days, so don’t wash it, or scratch it. But after that you are good to do whatever.

For pre-coating solvent wipe = 99% isopropyl alcohol or denatured alcohol. Removal= xylene is best but acetone works as well. Acetone flashes off quickly so you use more while Xylene flashes off slower and allows more time to “melt” the coating away.

It is completely clear so it lets the factory finish show through.

ProtectaClear offers more protection than from just fingerprints, it protects against tarnish and corrosion from all environmental contaminants, like bugs, bird poop, road salts, etc. So I would not recommend just doing part of a panel. Also as @ehuna stated, there is a slight color difference...
