I got this 21" lift bottle jack/stand.

I went with this model because some people mentioned the regular 18" jacks are too short. Also having a jack stand built-in for safety sounds great to me. More importantly, the base is wide enough to lessen chance...
I was using the massager/vacuum cleaner combo to good effect, then I remembered that I just got an air compressor for my off-roading trip! Gotta come up with other uses for it besides just airing up tires. I'm going to give it a shot (or blast) but need to grab a nozzle first.
Absolute beginner no more!
I still have lots to learn, but a week in the Moab area has given me a taste of the off-road life. It just so happened to coincide with Easter Jeep Safari week, where loads of Jeeps flock to Moab for their annual event. Jeeps with lift kits, armor, and AT tires were...
How is the power supplied? The existing 18L refrigerator utilizes the 120VAC behind the center console (first inefficiency, HV battery is DC), then converts it back to 12VDC (second inefficiency). Some folks McGyvered a DC-DC buck converter 48 to 12 VDC to avoid double conversion.
I was charging at the Moab Hyatt SC late at night next to a blue CT. I thought...on the off-chance @Kneubuehl would shake my hand...so I looked it over for the 3 missing fairings. I saw all 4 missing! No delete kit or anything. I was sure "nature filed his last nail" for him, so I waited until...
Thank you all for your suggestions. I bought a bunch of stuff based on recommendations on this forum
Not quite Hell's Gate but our first off-road trip is to Moab nevertheless. Just got done with Shafer/Potash Rd. We also did a few trails in Capitol Reef including Moonscape with an amazing...
Awesome! I'm hitting Moab later this week, but with my stock Pirelli AS I'll be sticking to the easy trails.
Was there a reason why you left the driver side front fairing on? You seemed to have removed the other 3.
I called some of the tire shops in Moab. According to them, CTs aren't exactly popular there (not sure if that's a political thing or just not many CTs around). New CT tire could take anywhere from next day to a week to get. In other words, spare tire to get home or trip gets extended for as...
It sounds like a few folks in this thread are thinking about hitting Moab in late March (Springbreak week). Anyone up to making some new friends if the timing is right? Safety in numbers.
Thanks for the info everyone. I need to pick up a spare tire kit/bottle jack. Do you think a tire repair plug kit is sufficient if I stick to the easy trails?
Another question: how isolated are these trails? Do you encounter other vehicles every 30 min or so? Sorry for the 20 questions.
Hi, I apologize if it's been asked before.
I've never gone off-roading before. We're heading to Arches, Canyonlands and Capitol Reef NPs soon. I want to try some easy off-roading trails in Moab with my family in tow, AWD with stock core wheel tires. I'm thinking about going on these trails as...
It's called rail rust. Most CTs have them at delivery. If you bitch hard enough upon delivery (like me) they will polish them off for you. Or you can polish them off yourself. Search for rail rust.

Wifi-enabled solar-powered camera above tonneau. Just glue it to the top, no wires to run
I got my dad a license-plate reverse camera with solar power and wireless data connection. $100 at Costco. Please make something like that so we don't have to rip apart the truck to install.
