WA they assume I'm driving like 15,000 miles a year and instantly hit me with the associated gas tax for roads. This is like $290 or so. Also like when I sold my Y due to forest fires last year the sale was delayed and the tags were expiring. I opted to renew thinking I'd get a refund --...
I had that similar thought with just using my ol' Delta 2 with the 48V/400W feed in the front to slow charge it, but the 12V output maybe maxes out at 10A.
AC maybe a 10w burn per hour but 1800w/2400w peak AC.
not in the back seat. But my understanding is each USB-C is rated at 65W and so far my roam dish sits around 22-40w. I've got about 3500mi now on this setup and only time I have issues is driving up a hill while facing north the angle gets a little too hard for the dish to negotiate...
I did what I could for mine, but tech out tomorrow and with both of us I think I can close the gap.
My adjustment - need more hands or a tail.
Comments on adjustment.
(front) - 8mm bolt - open frunk to help you see it. I just used a wrench and a bit of patience.
Weather stripping pealed...
I run this off my USB-C in the back seat mounted to the roof glass all day long. Zero issues.

I disable snow melt to be safe for winter too hah.
I was doing the same thing Most the time it stayed off, but finally broke down after getting UI alerts for glare. You can take a LED light and shine it in the front cam housing to see how cloudy it is. But a good cleaning fixed it. Just sucks to get to even if you don’t have an after...
This is the bit of plastic with the GPS unit mounted to it. 2 Tabs on the side and then this funny hinge thing in the back. Its whats surrounding the cameras the front and has a matte texture to cut glare.
I had to remove this to clean the glass the cameras look out. Off-gassing (fog/haze) from...
There is a 8mm nut on that stud in the front so that must of come loose. I actually got in to mine a little after the recall as I was unhappy with how much of a gap there was. They should have loctite or thread lock on that or they didn't put it on tight enough.
There are two plastic tabs up...
I"ve had some off-gassing issues too. It's mostly garaged and in WA so sun is not super extreme minus Summer. I just spent some time out in the sun due a near by wildfire that forced evacuation so I was in full sun for 4-5 days. The dry wipes and constant UI alerts about front facing camera...
My understanding was a powerwall has the solar inverter. I don’t think the gateway does this directly. It’s “solar ready” per my electrician, but has similar thoughts and feel like it would need a DC to AC inverter. That’s as much as I know
They need to scrap how they did these things and try again. Looks like trash.
Weld a stud to the panel - get a big ol' impression on the metal.
Can't seem to create these things without a 1-2mm gap.
Waves up and down all the metal.
This panel isn't going to war lol.
I got little dimples now, and new gaps. If you're happy with yours, I'd leave it be. I originally had a gap in the back, now I have one in the front. I dunno, seems over engineered at this point. Got waves of bends all down mine new ones too. Two thumbs down right now.
Thats how my passenger side looked when I got the rig. I told them when swapping to the new contrail if we could do something about that, instead I have a gap in the front now and these dimples where the stud is welded I guess. I'm not super happy about it but letting the mobile tech check I...
