Love the idea of independent front/rear steering control, or, just settings for normal, crab walk, or front only. I've been in tight parking situations where I wish I had that.
In New York it is. the law reads " All vehicles must have a rear view mirror and at least one side mirror " so I guess I didn't have to go through all that trouble
Destroyed passenger mirror backing into the garage. While I wait for a replacement, I thought I would stay street legal. Took a spare block of wood, some paint, and an $8 mirror and came up with this.
Agreed, Tesla should gve it to all foundation series truck owners for their loyalty and time they spent waiting to get their truck. It's just a matter of good will.
Been trying real hard to get some good pictures, this is the best I could do. From inside the truck with and without the flood lights on.
With Flood Lights ON
With Flood Lights OFF

And in case you missed it -- installed and menu photos...
I've tried a couple of times to get good pictures but nothing worth posting, yet. I don't think there was enough slack to route any other way without splicing in more wire. They were NOT very generous.
Connected & working. Here is how I did it, not a recommendation:
Lifted the roof applique using plastic trim tools. Rolled up a towel to hold it out of the way.
Removed the shrink tubing from the lightbar side and stripped back the insulation from the vehicle side to expose wires.
Soldered...
The wire does not have to stand up like that and will be tucked neatly away after the harness is hooked up. They asked me a couple of times if I want them to install it since it is not removeable.
I did not hear any wind noise from it and I always wondered what effect it will have on range...
