Well, I think we're about to see a flurry of VINs and all of the posts on here will quickly create a blur. Stopped by Rocklin CA SC the other day and they had 8 sitting, ready for delivery. Salesperson said they're seeing a very significant ramp-up.
Also - last time the vin tracker had a...
NICE! Looks like a flurry of orders placed yesterday. Must indicate a solid production ramp...and the March / April timing on new orders also seems positive.
Hoping to get mine by my birthday - mid March!
Honestly, for the use case that you've noted, the X makes a lot more sense. I had one with little kids, and it was a blast! Unless you're doing truck things with the CT, it makes zero sense compared to an X. Awesome pricing now too!
Enjoy - and let me know if you change your mind in a year...
Super helpful - THANK YOU! I'm very interested, as I will be towing a 5k lb boat very soon.
Question - what was the elevation change on the way up? I'll be going 6k miles up over about 80 miles...wondering how much that kind of elevation will eat into range.
Thanks again1
All terrific discussion and arguments. The main takeaway for me - context and perspective is EVERYTHING - and this thread just demonstrates that we all have aholes...I mean...opinions.
Personally, I have my FS on order, and did so as soon as possible. My use case - executive who wants a daily...
Ok, finally got the chance to order today and placed an order for dual motor FS CT! I was convinced that I would have bought a Rivian by now, after a ton of deliberation. Finally went to test drive an R1T, and was disappointed with the cabin space. Headed home from the test drive - and I see...
Right - I'm talking EPA. You could say the same thing about the CT - which won't get 300 miles under the same conditions.
Look - I'm just being objective / not looking to hurt anyone's feelings.
Wishing farewell to you all, as I am done with the CT concept and have moved on to a Rivian truck. Tried and true, 410 miles of range, 3.5 second 0-60, looks like a truck, and I get it in two weeks for less than the next best available CT. Disappointed with what was promised and what is now...
Yes!! Final, definitive proof that this is a real working man's TRUCK. As the saying goes, "It ain't a real truck unless you can fit your golf bags in the frunk."
Seems like a good move. Overpaying on two Tesla products like that is too much for one lifetime. The CT will have significant price drops in the future…and my sense is that Ford and Rivian are beneficiaries of Tesla’s pricing bungle
That's actually a worse situation than I thought - thanks for clarifying. Production problems on the premium vehicle and an overpriced base model... Hopefully they iron things out quickly.
Similar to a model 3 - low end / cheap car. My experience was a 2015 P85D. Replaced 6 door handles before they got it right, and replaced both drive units before 75k miles. That car sold for 110k originally. 60k when I bought it with 44k miles, and 32k when I sold it at 75k.
Yep. This is a product of some learnings re: the pricing relative to range and other trade-offs. Looks like a whiff on the beast...and likely an overshoot on demand for the AWD. I don't see combined CTs selling more than 100k / year run rate. Boutique truck.
