I have to say - this dude @cvalue13 has had the best predictions for the last several months. Range is as stated - and use cases supported (extension in bed is a valid use case), and variants are as predicted. Great job with the insider info and getting folks like me ready for the release...
Cybertruck delivery event during the week of Cyber Monday. Think this timing was delayed...or that the CT is behind schedule from indications earlier this year? TSLA brilliant minds at work...gives me confidence that tomorrow will truly be "next level"!!!
That's consistent with what I have heard as well. I've spoken with three different salespeople there who have each confirmed that they have an allocation on the way that should be there any day now. Hopefully soon - they must be getting sick of me calling every day to check :).
FIRED UP!!!
OP has insider connections and is feverishly defending the news today / responsible for every other reply here. Speculation and foresight is important - I choose that over blind ignorance and surprises.
I hate Jim Cramer - an idiot... I sold because this product was unveiled 4 years ago and will not meet pricing or volume expectations... Yes - the success or failure of your most recent product does matter to your valuation as a company.
Or - I'll be pleasantly surprised by the product and...
Pluses and minuses to all of this... So, the CT is not as impressive as many thought - including lack of truck like range (not 500 / very limited towing) and the specs released today are also let downs. That's only half the equation though. Good news = CT price must be the impressive news yet...
Yeah - anything over 60k and I keep my Prius as a daily driver and park a Ram 2500 Diesel on the side yard for real truck work. I'll use my CT flip money to buy that.
The difference with the other pickups on the market is that they are not priced for high volume. Rivian sold about 35k in three quarters. It is priced as a premium product and price, which severely limits the market size. I don't argue whether or not the CT might be worth the money - I don't...
I'm in agreement with many on this one. This vehicle needs to be priced right to get any chance at volume sales and the radical design will put off prospective buyers if this is launched at a higher end price. Many - including myself - will go for a proven, regular looking truck like the...
Nice to see this vehicle finally within reach / coming off the line. Looks like a truck and works like a truck...and available now. If CT only makes a 350 mile truck available early - will you still opt for that over a more capable Rivian that actually looks cool?
Thinking I would still opt...
Thanks to all for proving me wrong. I had my concerns, but some very solid response points. I'll go ahead with my early reservation. If nothing else, if I don't like the shiny car I will sell it for a massive profit.
Well...if you're talking about running a business, it's utility for the cost difference...and increases in borrowed capital has an opportunity cost. I get that paper depreciation reduces your tax basis, but depreciation differentials also reflects the true extra cash outlays that you had to...
I agree with you. You get what you pay for in selecting a new EV over a used truck. New EV truck is shiny and fast, but doesn't tow as far or otherwise offer any materially differential utility over an ICE. New truck EVs are status symbols / fun vehicles for those who have money to waste or...
Good point. Let me quote how your article starts: " How many miles or years will a Tesla battery last? It's tough to give a firm, evidence-based answer to that question.". Nice opinion piece :)
Good point - ridiculous in that I forgot to account for the time value of money too! That up front premium for a BEV truck slug would pay off if invested instead.
I can appreciate how many arguments are framed around "many have been known to go for xxx miles" - c'mon folks, really? I had a...
