If tapers happen because of heat, lower resistance and better cooling might reduce the need for them. But I’m not an engineer, obviously.

For one, I assume the cybertruck batteries will charge faster because of improved cooling and less resistance, meaning they will not be forced to taper down charging as much as current vehicles. And Elon did say there was more to say about charging.

At highway speeds, aerodynamics may mean more than weight. At slower speeds weight will matter more. For instance a small light weight non aerodynamic trailer may cost more to tow than say, a “Bullet” that is much longer and heavier. If you are towing at 65mph.

In the article, they were towed at the same speed. Which is interesting. I’m sure at slower speeds, results would vary.

An RV company tested this by pulling a large aerodynamic trailer, and a small light one that was not. The fuel mileage was better for the large trailer than the small one.

I think we’ll hear more after the final prototypes have been built. (Just guessing)

I have lupus. My hands and feet hurt as one of the symptoms, and I have three fingers that have “trigger finger”. The heated steering wheel in my Chevy bolt really, really helps.
