Didn't mean to suggest they design a new antenna and sandwich it between the glass layers, rather integrating the one SpaceX already produces to the backside of the glass roof.
I don't know about the full 1,500 HP but I think we could see more than the 1,020 HP of the Plaid. Usually the bottle neck is the battery and the larger pack on the Cybertruck should allow for higher power output than the Model S.
Whether the exterior is structural or not has already been discussed ad nauseam. The point I'm making is different, what that render denotes is that there is no evidence Tesla has walked back on their definition of "exoskeleton", however inaccurate that may be. The fact that the cabin structure...
The pack on that Silverado EV is about twice as large ...
I don't see the dual motor Cybertruck coming in at a higher curb weight than the Lightning ER given what I previously stated, especially when you consider that across Tesla's existing vehicle range they are significantly lighter than the...
F-150 Lightning:
Base Curb Weight - Extended Range Battery
6,361 lbs.
Cybertruck is shorter, will have a smaller battery and is unibody instead of body on frame. Make of that what you will.
If by real world you mean highway range, yes. However neither the R1T nor Lightning will get those numbers either when cruising at highway speeds. The Cybertruck will in all likelihood take a bigger hit relative to its EPA range compared to their competitors, just like other Tesla vehicles. When...
Agreed, however that is not what you are referencing in the chart, those are EPA numbers. On an EPA combined cycle a sizeable difference in weight will register and is going to result in better efficiency.
For example a Model Y LR AWD is ~19% more efficient than a Mach-E AWD ER California Route...
You're forgetting Cybertruck will likely come in at ~1,000 lbs less than the R1T. You're also not using the right figures:
R1T Quad 328mi (135kWh) = 2.43 mi/kWh
F-150 Lightning ER 4WD 320mi (131kWh) = 2.44 mi/kWh
I'm aware, probably just reading too much into the fact he didn't call it "tri motor" in the tweex. Hence the suggestion they might be going with a different name for it, not that what they're going to call it matters all that much anyway.
To be fair Musk has tweeted about Plaid Cybertruck in the past. The fact he's reverted to calling it Performance coupled with what will likely be a higher power output would suggest a new name for it.
