    Upgradable battery packs

Exactly. That is my point. The bolt pattern and space should stay the same for many years.

    Upgradable battery packs

Module repair yes. Full battery swaps no. Tesla does many on warranty but it hasn't made sense for 3rd party on Tesla to my knowledge. I understand there is 3rd party stuff for Nissan Leafs. When sales slows and battery capacity remains constant - Instantly - no battery constraint...

    Upgradable battery packs

I think right to repair makes it harder to void a warranty and no, changing a pack has never been this easy on a Tesla. When Tesla isn't battery constrained everything will be judged on straight margins. Used CT storage would not necessarily compete with a nicely packaged Powerwall.

FSD 1 month trial -- my impressions

I accepted the terms and took my first couple drives. I am really impressed and will continue to test it while I have it. If they will issue new revisions every 2 weeks the few small bugs will work their way out. Look out TSLA stock. These are my initial observations and...

    Upgradable battery packs

From Sandys tear down we learned that the CT battery pack can be removed and replaced fairly quickly by knowledgeable and equipped team. I think many of us expected a permanently mounted battery pack with adhesives. Were they concerned with warranty cost from failed packs or did they have...

Dropping battery pack teardown video by Sandy Munro

This is really cool and not getting enough attention . So if a new pack can be built with 30% more energy density the existing pack can be swapped out and repurposed as stationary storage. With Panasonic and LG in the 4680 business prices will fall. The economics might not be too bad. I was...

Yes, without a doubt, electric blankets are the way to go for efficiency in the winter.

3000 Mile Range Test Completed & EPA Estimate Confirmed in my real world driving

So vague. LFP or high nickel pack? From what starting %? Did you go out of your way as opposed to a readily available gas station? Don't get me wrong I am a BEV fan, but long distance adds time. When I retire I won't care, but now I do.

Early delivery of Foundation Series Cybertruck now available to long-term verified TSLA shareholder!

. If I want a truck next year and I could chose a phev like the Ram with 100 mile electric range vs the CT I would choose the Ram for $80k. Tesla will lower prices.

Early delivery of Foundation Series Cybertruck now available to long-term verified TSLA shareholder!

I can jump ahead 600 k orders but I won't. I refuse to pay over $70k for any truck. I will wait my normal turn. To me this shows demand weakness.

3000 Mile Range Test Completed & EPA Estimate Confirmed in my real world driving

If you are in a hurry to drive 800 miles in a day at 75 mph. That is a 12 hours in an ice. Probably 15 in any EV less than a 400 mile range S. That is real time. I won't bother with my RWD m3 trips over 350 miles or so. After the first sc stop everything slows from there.

3000 Mile Range Test Completed & EPA Estimate Confirmed in my real world driving

Not necessarily. Hence the blackout date option. Lots of people are off cycle with school and fed holidays. That said finding the right amount to have in a rental fleet would be tough. Maybe some kind of partnership with 3rd parties.

3000 Mile Range Test Completed & EPA Estimate Confirmed in my real world driving

I give away million dollar ideas to Tesla like candy. Here is another one, they probably won't embrace :). As an add option subscription Tesla should have road trip special PHEV or ICE vehicles available for rent when you absolutely need to do the long and fast road trip or towing. I am...

    Rivian R2 Reveal w/ R3 and R3X Surprises! $45K, 0-60 >3 seconds, 300+ miles range, NACS port, 4695 batteries

It is smaller without the steering, suspension, and we don't know the price. Tesla decided not to double stack cells but adding. 16 mm to the length would add 18% more storage. So 70 ish more miles.

    Rivian R2 Reveal w/ R3 and R3X Surprises! $45K, 0-60 >3 seconds, 300+ miles range, NACS port, 4695 batteries

Thanks. I didn't know anyone made a 4695. Still 3 years is a lot of time for chemistry improvement. LFP explains the low cost. It will weigh 4 tons.

    Rivian R2 Reveal w/ R3 and R3X Surprises! $45K, 0-60 >3 seconds, 300+ miles range, NACS port, 4695 batteries

4695 batteries? I saw that somewhere. If CT adopted those we could see 500 mile range. This should be a new thread.
