MyQ Auto-Close Strikes Again āš ļø

Had this happen as well. I ā€œfixedā€ it by scheduling MyQ to close my door every hour. A brute force solution to a problem MyQ created.

MyQ Auto-Close Strikes Again āš ļø

This happened to me as well a few months ago. I had to search for it, play with the settings and then the little icon reappeared:

MyQ Auto-Close Strikes Again āš ļø

There are a bunch of posts on why I should have disabled the MyQ app’s auto-close feature. I just learned the hard way, after backing my Cybertruck into my garage door 😭 I know I’m looking at about $2,000 in repairs. At least my guy lives near me and is rushing over this afternoon to fix it...

New Tesla 4680 battery cells patent achieves fully dry electrode construction

Love this post! This patent also has implications for quantum computing. The ability to efficiently capture an electron at the Lowest Unoccupied Molecular Orbital (LUMO) is important for quantum bits (qubits).

Cybertruck skids off road and dangles on electric pole cable

If only the driver was in an F-150. The guy wire would have simply bent the frame and the truck would have still been drivable.

    Happy turkey day Cybertruckers.

The secret is actually the salting/brining of the turkey. It preserves the meat, in addition to adding flavor. This is why you can get away with counter thawing (or even leaving fresh meat out overnight).

FSD v14.2 update rolling out now (including Cybertrucks)

Until I get some A.S.S. I just don’t care about these updates. It’s so sorely needed it’s starting to hurt.

Best "All Around" Tires for CT

The stock ATs are very good. I keep them at 57-60 psi as I do a lot of highway driving. I’m off-roading frequently out of necessity and traction is good even at this high a tire pressure. I’m at 22,000 miles with plenty of tread left. The tires get rotated every 6,000-8,000 miles which I think...

    50k Miles and going strong!

Finally, a no-bull**** explanation of how to overland with a Cybertruck. Your solar setup is the first answer I’ve seen that’s honest and practical. Everyone else just evaded my questions. Thank you and excellent work. I too abuse my Cybertruck beyond what other trucks can handle. Even other EV...

Mad Max is the FSD Mode I Finally Needed

Finally an FSD mode made for the insane mix of Texans and Californians that is Austin traffic. Mad Max FSD mode ducked and weaved through rush hour traffic like a boss. The lane changes were downright aggressive. The hesitation was gone. Lane gaps were seized the instant they appeared. I wish...

    RoboTaxi Sighting in Austin

Just saw one. It turned away before I could get a pic. Any other Austinites catch one?

Minimum distance to drive per month for EV to be cheaper than ICE

Good question @bg002h. I used to ponder this myself and laughed at EV owners who thought they were saving money. Then I got a Cybertruck and saw the light. Let me pick a more popular example, a used Model 3. These are cars cheap right now, like $20K. It’s around $40 to charge from 10-80%...

Fix for loose overhead console assembly (where magnetic sunvisors attach)

With Jeeps you can reach behind the bumper and push out dents. Not sure how the OP did it with the Cybertruck’s bumper?

    “Invisible” Vandalism?

Yeah, she drew ā€œbut[t]ā€ with her cigarette. I’ve had vandals steal magnets off of my Cybertruck multiple times. If your graffiti isn’t noticeable then are you able to live with it?

Fix for loose overhead console assembly (where magnetic sunvisors attach)

The best thing I learned from this truly awesome post is that you can fix bent bumpers with a heat gun! I slightly bent my former Jeep’s bumper and now realize that I easily could have fixed it. This heat gun looks like my new favorite tool.

WTB - Cyberwheel with AT Tire

Does anyone in the Austin area have a Cyberwheel + AT tire that they’re willing to sell? I already have the official Cybertruck spare tire kit. The only things I need are one Cyberwheel with an AT tire on it. One of my wheels cracked and a tire caught a screw through it. Thanks!

Need to get a tire mounted

Thanks for the help everyone! It all worked out for me. Goodyear Tire in Corpus Christi mounted and balanced my spare tire onto my wheel using two jacks on the left and right rear mount points. I just emailed them the pages of the Cybertruck manual. $40 total.

Need to get a tire mounted

Thanks @HaulingAss! But how do I get the screw out of the tire? It’s in there sideways and bent. The rubber melted around the threads. It’s basically two holes in one.

Need to get a tire mounted

Does anybody know if Goodyear Auto Service in Corpus Christi, Texas, knows how to change a Cybertruck tire on a lift? My brother-in-law told me that Tesla advised him not to use conventional lifts on his Model 3. He said normal lifts damage the battery. I need to get my spare tire mounted onto...
