The Cybertruck was born with a target on its back.
The auto industry was terrified of it. The journalists colluded with them. Then Elon became a hate magnet. Then the target market hated Elon and his “fascist symbol truck”. Finally people are Luddites, afraid of the future and anything that...
This is actually a must have for me.
I frequently use the on screen visualization to look around the Cybertruck. The vehicle is just one massive blind spot and I can actually look “around corners” at intersections.
To put it lightly, I have abused my Cybertruck on road and off (including the salty beach truck playground on South Padre Island, Texas).
In spite of my best efforts I cannot break this truck, including axels, suspension, FSD, wheel alignment, armor glass, and the “cheap” vinyl, let alone the...
Buy it!
I don’t know what else you were planning to do with $108K, and you and I both know it won’t be as good as a Cyberbeast.
I call this less “cold feet” and more of a “fear of success”, like standing at the altar with the partner of your dreams.
Great post but I have to ask, how far “overland” are you driving?
I could top up my late Jeep 4xe with my generator’s ethanol free gasoline (or pretty much any gas I could bring with me).
This was the other thing I was wondering. The state of the auto industry is kind of a joke, when compared to self-driving and Tesla.
I see ads for competitors offering “traffic aware” and “pedestrian aware” features, “AI defined vehicles”, and surfaces coated in screens. None of it even...
Good point and very reassuring.
My concern is that the volume of data may not be enough, even when collected over the next few years. Cybertruck sales numbers are a lot smaller than the other models. The amount of data needed to train FSD is massive, especially for those weird life-or-death...
This is not a FUD or troll post. I’m a happily committed Cybertruck owner, for better or worse.
I’ve noticed that the latest FSD updates are less noticeable. The first few last year fixed curb hopping, roundabouts and self parking, to name a few.
A credible source believes the lack of...
Yes. I also really doubt steering failure was the cause. Critical, redundant systems should be the last to fail. Like the truck should have had full power loss first.
Maybe the steering “stopped responding” because the car was skidding?
The left turn into the wrong lane happens with me as well, even without intersections. Basically any 90 degree left turn with no oncoming traffic.
I take it as a quirk, and am waiting for the FSD update that will one day fix this
