I am very enthusiastic about having the armor glass in the CT but one question that bugs me a lot is where the armor glass will be sourced. It's a new product not offered by regular automotive glass manufacturers, so will Tesla manufacture those in-house at Giga Texas (I see on Wikipedia that...
Yes my statement was incorrect, centrifugal force cannnot be reduced, however by changing the body roll, centripetal force exercised on the body can be shifted for a more comfortable ride
At one point in time the automotive part of Tesla will need to expand into new brands (I hope through acquisition or partnerships). The technical knowledge of Tesla will eventually become too much for just one brand.
I will be really impressed if Cybertruck's air suspension lifts/drops right/left sides of the car while cornering to minimize the body roll and to reduce centrifugal forces in the cabin. There are 3 variables for centrifugal force:
Speed of the vehicle
Corner radius
Load
Speed and corner...
Some truck drivers that work in teams (in shifts, one drives while the other sleeps) make long miles without long stops. In those cases Tesla Semi is not a good fit...
Batteries in the frame, interesting...
Yes, the roof peak definitely, both lateral sides and more importantly the cargo structure I believe will be a full frame, it is supposed to withstand 3500lbs of load
Basically yes, but I do not think it will be a full-frame by itself from front to back, some parts of the car's structure will look like a frame and others will be made only by SS sheets/windows, like maybe the front, for a crumple zone.
I was thinking about this subject a lot and I just don't see how they achieve the necessary rigidity just by using 30X SS sheets. I would say Tesla will use some HSS profiles to strengthen Cybertruck structure, easily available and inexpensive.
BTW a similar exoskeleton body design was used for...
F1 drivers have most of the controls on the wheel, appart from the safe airbag integration there is no reason this cannot be implemented in regular cars
I am pretty sure that Giga Texas will focus on Model Y and batteries production first and Cybertruck after. Hopefully Model Y ramp up will go smoothly so Tesla can shift all attention to Cybertruck
Wow, cool feature. I didn't know there are aftermarket solutions for this, I saw the new Venza sun roof has this as an option.
As for the CT, I guess it will not be included, just to reduce complexity, energy consumption and cost. Although there probably will be a lot of aftermarket solutions...
What is one feature that if removed from Cybertruck would make you cancel your order?
For me it's the Stainless steel body, here in Canada cars rust from our salty roads and I just want to not care about the paint. I probably would buy even an ICE vehicle if it had a SS body/skin, all other...
True, but It will be a long time before i trust something to drive me, without paying attention.
And you're not alone with that sentiment. At one point driving with an FSD will be like having a plane flight, you know it can kill you but probability is close to zero. There will always be people...
