Sigh...it's the most accurate tool out there for EV trip planning, and matches MY experience. But I'll stop since it works for YOU when you go triple digits, and when Canonball record holders do it, since that's the real world...and everyone should go off that instead.
How about we just agree...
Those are PEAK charging speeds. They only last for a few minutes before they start tapering.
Don't take my word for it. Go on A Better Route Planner (https://abetterrouteplanner.com/) and try it. You'll see what I'm getting at.
Thanks for the pic. Great setup!
First comment on ride height. The ride height is different when it tow mode. It defaults to Medium, not Low! I was happy with that since I was towing locally, so I haven't tried changing it.
In regards to speed, it DOES make a huge difference. As others have...
Aerodynamics play a huge role. Do you have a picture of your setup? Did the boat have a cover on when towing?
Also, the range extender is being made for this specific reason...
I was specifically talking about NORMAL speeds (i.e. going 70-75 vs. 80-85 on most interstates where 70 is the speed limit). Also, the Cybertruck does not charge anywhere near 1,000 miles per hour (yet!). When I had my 2017 Model S 100D, this was very much true, and I'd argue that the Cybertruck...
Thank you for doing this!!!
BTW, this shows quite well the old EV adage:
The slower you go, the faster you get there!
On long trips, it's usually faster to go the speed limit in between supercharging vs. speeding to the next supercharger, where you have to stop at an earlier one and charge...
Costco did a patch/plug for me on my old Model S with the foam inserts. They just cut the foam out where the patch goes, put the patch/plug in, then rebalance according...
What setting were you on. I feel it's too floaty if it's on "Relaxed", but on "Focused", it's perfect. You also have to remember, it's a Truck on All-Terrain 35's!
Yeah, the Cybertruck seats feel more heavy duty, not as plush. I figured it went it the truck vibe. Will see if they break in more. BTW, they're not uncomfortable, just firmer. Kinda like the difference between a soft and firm mattress...
@MarkJF, aerodynamics play a huge role, as does speed. Does your boat have a cover on when towing? How fast were you going, on average? Also, what state of charge were you when you stopped to charge?
What state of charge did you start charging? If it wasn't close to the bottom, that might be the reason for the 100kw. Also, are you on the latest software version? I know they updated the charge curve lately.
80 miles between charges seems really bad. The worst I've seen is usually half, so...
@UP_Frank, is the overall circumference of the wheel/tire package the same (i.e. 35"), or are they bigger? Can you give the tire size? Also, If bigger, any modifications needed?
I think they look great, BTW!
