Seems moisture could get trapped between the two horizontal beads based on your photos. Mine was installed in Oct '24, with no issues. They kept my truck for a few days. I know the director of the SC near my house, who was relocated from Texas at the plant to clean house at his new SC. He was...
FYI.
I just had mine replaced after it was impacted by the driver behind me while we were at a red light. The tailgate itself, if it needs to be replaced, is $2,850 from Tesla Collision service centers, at least the one in Fort Lauderdale.
His insurance company paid for all the repair costs...
I was hit by another driver while stopped, but my repair included a new tailgate, which was $1,800. See my post for a copy of the written estimate from the other driver's company. I took my CT to Tesla Collission in Fort Lauderdale and they handled everything...
Update:
The driver's insurance company covered 100% of the repair, which was $3,329.84 (tailgate, bumper, and tow hitch cover, including all labor). I thought it would be more, but then again, there is no paint, and CTs are American-made.
And easy way to remember and to let muscle memory take over is down on a stalk is in the same direction you turn the steering wheel, which is the same for which button to press (down). Right turns are all the same, except reversed, clockwise, and up, etc.
The problem with stalks is you have to...
Mine was installed in October of 2024, but so far, it is showing no signs of lifting anywhere, and I go through brushed car washes two or three times per week (I have PPF installed over all the stainless), but they know to turn off the side and front contact brushes (not the one above that gets...
At the end of the day, it all points to insecurities that they MUST have. It's almost like they think they are losing something or giving up something due to being misinformed and resort to behaving this way to balance out their misguided thinking.
South Florida, 99% love it, 1% H8. So far, one mom's basement guy and his fat gf gave me a thumbs down at a light around 8pm so hard to see them. Two young twenty-somethings guys in a lowered Honda thumbs down while passing each other at a four-way stop.
Other than that, no issues.
Yesterday afternoon was the third time I had been rear-ended while completely stopped at a red light or due to local traffic (this 3rd one was due to local traffic). All three drivers were at fault and highly cooperative so far. I was driving to my appointment with Tesla Collision to replace the...
I have the same issue in my CT, and very rarely in my Model Y. I reported it to Tesla, and they said it is due to the app sleeping on my Android phone. I configured it not to sleep, and also for the Bluetooth dependent apps that seem to be system related apps to support Bluetooth. I didn't not...
It's at a much lower frequency, and it is easier for people to detect the direction you are coming when they hear it. This is one reason many fire trucks, rescue trucks, and police cars switched to the lower frequency sounds.
Some online research shows:
Lower-frequency sounds (e.g., 180-400...
Funny that you should ask. I was hit Saturday night at a stop light by a Chevy Silverado that had already stopped too, but rather closely to my rear bumper. The driver claimed he wasn't paying attention when his large dog in the back seat distracted him, and his foot slipped off the brake while...
Without diving too deep here, but initial thought is a simple momentum formula of m1v1+m2v2=m1v1′+m2v2′ which assuming a car is going to make contact with a CT from the side while traveling in the same direction, we find that on average the mass of a CT is about twice that of a typical ICE...
Understandable....I use the cloud-based profile too since I have two Teslas and especially like the part where it picks up where I leave off in the middle of songs too.
Couple of notes about this:
1) If you have walk-away lock enabled all Tesla's will close all windows after you reach about 30 ft away. However, if the window motor stall-current sense is not calibrated correctly the window will stop. You can calibrate them all individually inside Service Mode...
Same issue here. Just like many have said, recalibration does not help. I suspect the issue is that Tesla FSD Engineering is relying on the training data to "fix" the NN and has been told not to "code" exception handling to solve this issue.
This makes it 10x harder to solve, but they need to...
