This thread is comical. The truck is made of hard stainless steel!
It doesn’t need to be wrapped, unless you don’t care for the appearance of the first bare stainless steel vehicle in 40 years.
When you strip away the passive layer with a product like Bar Keepers Friend, the metal will re-form...
From where the camera was when she hit the button, I think it sounds like my louder Fiamm “ freeway blaster” horns that I use in my cars. I don’t see a problem.
If the horns are 48 volts, you may have limited options to replace them for a while.
Thanks for the price details. It looks like the total cost of the Beast Foundation Series including finance costs in your scenario is approximately $160,270:
my calculation:
Vehicle: $122,235.00 (including $250 order fee)
Registration: $578.00
License fee: $795.00
Title fee: $33.00
Tire fee...
My post was from February 2020 when details were very scarce. Of course, it doesn't make sense now that the specs are released. Here is my full 3-year-old post with added context.
I wouldn't lump all manufacturers into "building and delivering" EVs. Since I own 2 Chevrolets, I have a backup reservation on the Chevy Silverado EV, and was dismayed (but not shocked) by this headline just yesterday:
General Motors Pulls Funding from Foundering Electric Vehicle Efforts in $10...
I guarantee that detailers and PPF shops will make bank on Cybertruck owners who listen to their "recommendations".
This detailer on the left said he uses steel wool on stainless exhausts "to bring them back". You never want to use steel wool on your Cybertruck. Period. I posted about this...
Hey dude, you lost all credibility with me when you called the Cybertruck vaporware. That's hilarious.
I know the pictures of people lining up all across the country to just see the Cybertruck on the eve of its launch will be unsettling to some. I imagine it is akin to standing on the beach...
They are different products. The Cyber Wash is referred to on the Cyber Shield label.
"Clean heavily saturated areas with Renu Waterless Wash before application"
Cyber Wash = a waterless wash
Cyber Shield = a cleaner and protective solution.
I bet the Cyber Wash is an existing product, while the Cyber Shield is a custom product. We'll see in a few days.
As above, I figure the Cyber Shield was made for Tesla. They probably won't offer it separately or they are waiting for the delivery event to post it on their site.
While I was looking at the Cybertruck today, an employee and I were chatting about stainless maintenance since I have a DeLorean. He showed me the spray bottle solution that Tesla provided them for the truck: Cyber Shield!
It is made by Auto Renu (https://autorenu.com) , and the bottle states...
Huh. That's not the impression I walked away with. For one of the first trucks off the line, this one had great panel alignment.
I didn't notice any misalignment on the tailgate, at least one that stood out. I left my micrometer and tape measure at home though. :)
I was just there. My wife and I drove over from Orlando. The Cybertruck is AWESOME in person. Even though I get to look at a stainless car every day, it looks to me like you're looking at alien tech.
I had a great chat with the employees.
I'll post more thoughts later...
I agree. The number would likely be a token amount in the ceremony just to kick off the start of deliveries.
For anyone who knows, is that the approach for other new models?
