    Live Tesla Shareholder meeting

I'm going through this modeling right now. We're building a new house, and are doing everything we can to make it low-consumption all-electric. Well insulated, ductless minisplits air-source heat pump, hybrid water heater, etc. R-32 walls, R-50 ceiling, in Michigan. And it doesn't matter what...

    Live Tesla Shareholder meeting

He's always kind of rambling but damn is he rambling.

Do you think Tesla will answer the R1S with a 3-row below $80k?

If/when I actually get a CT, it'd be replacing my Pacifica Hybrid, also known as my kid hauler, also known as the camping-mobile. Somewhere between 4 and 6 of us pile in to a vehicle and drive for 4-14 hours to stay in a tent for a week, and we do that around 4 times a year. In my head I've been...

    Tesla AI Day

Smells like buying opportunity. Or (I know this is unpopular) the stock price will come back to reality and reflect actual earnings. Current price reflects insane growth opp, but this might be that growth the bet has been on. If so, I don't know if there's "more" growth past that or if this is...

    Hazmat transport

As a frequent manure transporter, I disagree. Nothing like trying to scrape the bottom only to find that you've ripped yet another hole in the tarp with your grain shovel. Best manure transport is bare or spray-on liner (no mats), a grain shovel, a pushbroom, and a hose.

Elon: Cybertruck will not have door handles!

Not so much a wash as a "stand in the bed and spray the rest of the manure out" tbh

What would you pay for the cyberquad?

I said this back in the OG thread, but unless it's converted to a work machine and not a sport machine I'm not interested. That said, if there's a 4x4 option with a rear rack and pin hitch I'd expect ~$12k (pending battery size). Ranger EV (side-by-side) is around $15k and the other on-market...

Latest From Musk: Production Cybertruck almost exactly same but better. No door handles. 4 wheel steering. Self opening doors.

Well, there's our confirmation on what exactly no handles means. I assume there's still a manual way to open the door because the last thing I need is my CT not opening because I shaved my beard or skipped the contacts and stayed in glasses that day.

Samsung and Tesla sign deal for Cybertruck rearview mirrors / cameras

You've never actually tried to file an auto insurance claim, have you?

Samsung and Tesla sign deal for Cybertruck rearview mirrors / cameras

This sounds like it's the core of the problem, and likely exacerbated by my lazy eye. It's worse when I'm wearing my glasses vs my contacts too. Hmm...

Samsung and Tesla sign deal for Cybertruck rearview mirrors / cameras

I'm mixed on this tbh. I have a '21 Bolt with the rearview cam in the mirror, and there's a significant "cognitive delay" for me when I'm using the cam vs. the regular mirror. It's a small difference, but I do notice it harder for me to "focus" on the mirror in camera mode. I've actually played...

That R1T "Forest Edge" interior is calling

The one that's in my driveway the fastest will spark the most immediate joy. The one that I can daily drive and use to influence my fellow rednecks to embrace EVs (like I have with my PacHY and Bolt) will be the most long-term joy. I am not good at patience. I definitely failed the marshmallow...

That R1T "Forest Edge" interior is calling

According to the tracker, I'm ~89k in line overall and ~23k trim-wise (dual motor). But I'm in Michigan, and we are typically very late in line when it comes to Tesla geo-based rollouts. I'm expecting late 2022 tbh, if not early 2023. My two big hesitations about the R1T, and I feel like they...

That R1T "Forest Edge" interior is calling

Honestly that is a factor. The kids throw rocks at the CT? Unfortunate, but dad isn't angry. They do it to the Rivian? Dad's gotta go for a walk before he starts yelling. Same for hunting. I just somehow feel it'll be less a problem to hose out the bed after filling it with pheasant in the CT...

That R1T "Forest Edge" interior is calling

I mean, the Rivian is nice and all, but the short bed and $$$$ make it an immediate non-starter compared to the CT, right? Disregard the fact that I've been pining for another forest green car since my 1999 Escort. Disregard the fact that that Forest Edge interior option is so...perfectly...

Anyone selling what your CT will replace?

Recently sold my V60 for a Chevy Bolt. I get supplier discount, there was a $3k Costco rebate, and another $13k on the hood - so I walked out with a fully loaded '21 Premiere with literally every package for less than $25k. That was supposed to be what I traded in for the CT. So now considering...

Off-topic: nothing to see here - Tesla Van

As a Pacifica Hybrid owner, I'd cancel my CT res in a minute if there was a Tesla van with the same capabilities. 7/8 passenger, "stow and go" third row and very easily removable 2nd row captain seats, and 350+ miles of range (plus towing) and I'll spend my $50-70k there instead of on the CT...

Winch with box on wheels inside vault

A flat drone (the rover from Stargate SG-1 comes to mind) pack mule actually sounds cool AF. Get that Boston Dynamics tech to follow me around and hand me tools as I need them.
