ABR is great for pre trip planning and especially when towing. Being able to predict how many stops and what route to take while not in the car, and set parameters like departure energy, etc is really handy. San Diego to Crater Lake for example.
For those areas that still doesn't have Tesla...
I expected the range to go up but the opposite has been the case. Caveat I have not driven that far yet and these tires are sticky. I will report back after at least one longer road trip. Love the tires though. Seems quiet compared to the ATs
I have a different set of running boards, but I have the same issue. My wife hates it - and I tolerate it. Pants tend to get dirty getting in and out of the truck.
Lots of opinions here. I faced the same question a couple of years ago, and despite my efforts to engineer a solution with one breaker feeding two Tesla chargers, I ultimately ran a separate 50-amp breaker and wire to the second charger. I then upgraded the first Tesla charger to the Universal...
I ended up with around 750kWh over 2400 miles towing a 6k gw adventure camper doing mostly below 60 mph. San Diego, inland Bay Area, avenue of the Giants redwoods, Crescent City by Oregon, Crater Lake, Lassen National Park, Lake Tahoe, Mammoth Lakes, Alabama Hills, back to San Diego. Epic trip...
THIS! The truck will predict your range based on you driving the speed limit. I have found that if the speed limit is 55 mph and that's what you drive (caveat: you configured trailer specs correctly), the prediction is spot on. If the speed limit is 65 or 70 and you do 55 MPH, you will get far...
Has anyone else done a long-distance road trip in their Cybertruck yet?
How do you handle charging strategy for family trips?
Would you trust FSD for a drive like this?
We did a 2,400-mile road trip with a 6,000-pound camper about a month ago. FSD is not an option - and not sure I'd use it...
Plug kit from Amazon, inflator, and first aid kit - all live in the truck 24/7. Special for road trips? Water jug and a leash for my dog in case we get stranded. It is just a truck - a reliable one at that.
24.5k on ATs with 4k while towing heavy camper. Replaced with Michelin platinums. Discount Tire said two of four tires were outside their tolerance (I know they are very conservative.)
PSA DT will match Costco prices. Saved me $100 on a set.
I bought a 120v pump only to realize you need a extension cord as well. Then bought this battery operated one for road trips and towing. https://a.co/d/7m0GHvW
Yes, this. 4 to 5 times more expensive in my case. On our latest road trip I had to use EA and they charged $0.65 per kWh. A price I am beyond OK paying when I needed it in the middle of the redwoods of CA, with no Tesla charger around. Convenience fees.
