I interpreted the comment from the other direction.
Ford will pressure for a commitment before they have put their own final specs out. Sort of what they seemed to be doing with the new Bronco.
On a side note, I was hoping for an electric Bronco. That'd be cool. Probably another 5 - 10...
I have a reservation for both.
As soon as I put the one in for Ford, I was bombarded by the dealership. Different emails from different people, quite a bit redundant. I thought is was very annoying. Just HMU when it's ready to buy! LOL!
In the end, hopefully both trucks will be great choices.
Same as it ever was. I don't think there has been much new "asphalt" laid down for 40 - 50 years that wasn't repaving an already existing road.
Also, I would disagree that "most backcountry is inaccessible", as most "backcountry" in the US is BLM land, which is all mostly accessible.
4x4...
I have a 2014 Ford Focus SE hatchback that runs on FlexFuel (E85). I've spent about $3K on performance upgrades, and I doubt I would get much for it if I tried to sell it.
Might just keep both for a while, as the Focus is super fun to drive.
Seems like you got something against 4x4. LOL!
What you are describing is your personal preference. There are plenty of folks that want or need 4x4 for whatever reason, for camping, recreational off roading, working in remote locations, lots of snow driving, etc. Or they want that capability...
Concur. He may push his employees hard, but they have a choice to work there or not.
Most people that work at Tesla and SpaceX are in some part there for the vision, and to be part of something revolutionary and larger than themselves.
And don't be so sure about the Emperor of Mars thing... ;)
Maybe someone said this already, but how many "average working person(s)" own Bitcoin or the like?? LOL! That's hilarious.
A *few* of their other points are valid though, and Musk can be quite the douche, but it seems silly to threaten him.
I wish Musk would just STFU and get on with the...
A really competitive F-150 lightning might keep me from buying a CT.
Ford did a lot of things right, but the CT is really something else entirely.
I put a deposit down on the F-150, so I'm set for both.
If the F-150 is available much sooner than my tri-motor CT, that might sway me.
If it's easy...
Love all the leg room. if you had a bench seat, the middle person would be just fine. Or maybe your SO could slide up and sit next to you while riding down the road. Old school. ?
if you’ve never visited the Green Car Reports website, check it out.
It’s a great source of news for Tesla and the broader EV market and industry.

Couldn't agree more. Musk says/does a lot of sensational, provocative things, which don't ultimately serve the cause. Hopefully he'll learn to be more restrained one day, and just deliver all the amazing things he does and leave the BS out of it.
you are right on all points, and all of these issues have been solved for some time now. grid tied solar systems with battery backup disconnect themselves from the grid when running off battery so you dont fry some poor lineman repairing downed lines who thinks there’s no charge on the wire...
vehicle to grid is part of the utility and the promise of distributed power.
it may be that any electric vehicle in the near future will be *required* (as in by law) to store power for the grid as a whole and provide backup during emergencies such as the recent debacle in Texas during the Arctic...
Ha! True. Motley Fool was decent when it started out. They always had something interesting to add, but past few years (maybe more?) their articles are fluff that try to sell you on some bs or another.
I’m sort of partial to Ford, having owned a number of them, but I dont see them making...

Just read this blog post about EV ownership.
Having just spent $700 for four tires on my ICE mobile, I hadn't even considered the expense of tires for an EV with all the high torque and my lead foot!
Still, the EV pros seem to...
