    Hydrogen “fool sells” (Nikola Badger)

Great points @ajdelange. Thanks. Hydrogen will never be as efficient as electricity for most applications because you are adding steps in there that go from the source to moving the vehicle. And if the electrolysis process were 100% efficient then the total efficiency for hydrogen would be...

    Hydrogen “fool sells” (Nikola Badger)

There was a recent thread that mentioned the Badger truck by Nikola. It will supposedly be a hybrid of sorts, running on hydrogen fuel cells and batteries. Elon Musk thinks hydrogen is a dumb idea. From an Inverse.com article... “Elon Musk has criticizised a competitor's idea (Hyundai) to...

    Nikola Badger pickup

10 - 20 years? How much better will current EVs be by then? Also that's a lot of steps you outline for hydrogen to be a viable fuel. And hydrogen has been around for a while, yet it hasn't taken hold, probably for good reasons. Electricity for EVs is already here and growing fast. Also...

    Nikola Badger pickup

Totally agree. Hydrogen fuel for vehicles is a ridiculous concept. Storing and transporting volatile gas via an infrastructure that hasn't even been built is laughable. LOL! <-- Me laughing! :-D Electricity is everywhere and tapping into it is incredibly simple.

    Rear passthrough possible

Even if you had to remove the back seat, if the front seat is bench style, there would be plenty of room for 3 people, 4 if they're not too big. That would be cool, 2 or 3 up front and a WHOLE LOT of room in back.

    Rear passthrough possible

Maybe the cover rolls down into the floor. Then the pass through could open either when the cover is on all the way, or down all the way. Or maybe it's a half wall and not a full wall. Might be constrained under the floor by whatever is underneath (batteries?).

Video: Cybertruck Will Make Tesla Billions

By then it will be too late. Tesla will dominate the market. The big 3 are probably already working on all-electric trucks, but we'll see if they can scale up their production and market in the face of an onslaught by Tesla.

Has that actually happened? It'd be interesting to read about it. thx.

Dual Motor CT is estimated at 690 horsepower and 824 lb-ft torque

i live in Houston, Texas and there is no shortage of jacked up pickup trucks hauling ass down the freeway here. They cut in, and weave in and out, to get ahead. ride up on your tail. it can get pretty annoying. Doesn't happen so much on surface streets fortunately.

    Long Range 2-motor?

same here. wanted the longest range so reserved the tri-motor. a single or double with longer range would be perfectly fine by me. ?? maybe it would come with a higher trim level, or that could then be added with the money saved versus the tri-motor.

Full Video: Cybertruck Featured on Jay Leno's Garage

Something I just noticed in the full video, maybe someone else mentioned it... was the skid plate under the truck. Full length, smooth metal plate. Hopefully it is structural, meaning solid and attached to the frame. For folks that off road, like me years ago :p, a skid plate is an important...

Update: Cybertruck Will Keep Concept's Size, But Separate Smaller Cybertruck Likely!

Maybe that's the ONLY thing that's more complicated versus an ICE vehicle. And a small price to pay for performance that FAR exceeds ICE vehicles. The only way you are going to loose a lot of range due to cold weather is if you don't drive your CT for a long time and leave it in the cold, as I...
