  1. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

It will be quite the nuisance until more pull through's are opened up if they not backed up with weekend traffic.
  2. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

So what else were the potential buyers supposed to expect? So if it wasn't BS then what do you call it? Cool, I think I will wait till the price drops 50% & range increases. Lots of Tesla car buyers switching over, 160-175kwh & they likely would have not lost so many reservations of truck buyers.
  3. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

Some just hate EV's regardless of any semblance of rationality. There are many others that hate the cost of operating ICE but can't or don't want to live with the longer trip charging nuisances & traveling charging costs.
  4. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

I don't doubt that another brand of EV truck would have had very similar results. What might actually be impressive & reflect some real world usefulness is if that CT could tow that same trailer combination over 150 miles on the hwy.
  5. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

That mostly sounds strangely similar to the CT scenario. Under the same conditions the CT would surely get 1mi/kwh so at the very least 100miles. Where do you get this 40 miles nonsense from, let keep things real here. You have a CT on order? Do you do much towing with your Leaf's? The...
  6. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

Better than the Rivian? Really with a smaller battery & worse Cd? Any similar car towing tests with the Rivian at higher speeds were yielding 1.2-1.5mi/kwh or 150+miles/100% SOC or 113miles @ 75% SOC.
  7. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

They actually tow exceptionally well with the exception of range unless it has a huge battery like the Silverado. Tests show 200+ miles.
  8. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

Pretty sure it will get 100miles safely @ 1mi/kwh which is pretty standard efficiency towing a large load. The aftermarket will have plenty of contractor racks & accessories as things ramp up. My guess is that it was 1/8 mile not 1/4mile.
  9. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

Then it is going to work great for local trips towing very aerodynamic loads, glad to hear it is going to work out so well for you?. FUD<Fact Funny all the reports I found for the Hummer were 1mi/kwh towing.
  10. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

Yes since most of the great campground's, lake's and recreational area's are right at the outskirts of town. You don't tow much do you?
  11. Towing tested with 6,000lb Tesla and trailer load

I would be too, dropped the CT for towing as use case as soon as I heard it was only 123kwh. Might want to put a deposit on the Silverado EV easily 200+ miles towing. Highly unlikely since it is doubtful that your trailer is more aerodynamic than the Tesla on a car trailer. Aerodynamics...
  12. Towing Range Numbers?

I agree that the more aerodynamic/lighter/lower profile combination (1.3-1.8mi/kwh) yield better results than a larger/heavier (.9-1.1mi/kwh) combination. You initially quoted large (aero wise) so that is why I did not agree, most of your examples were not large as proven by the single...
  13. Towing Range Numbers?

Looks like I made 2 incorrect assumptions from your post. 1) That by large trailer you meant something large & heavy similar to a Rv trailer or car/utv/snowmobile trailer that is at least 5-7000lbs and has 2 axles. 2) You meant practical range of 90% or less since beyond that things get risky...
  14. Towing Range Numbers?

Are you talking 100-0 SOC? Large load= large cargo/rv & 6000+lbs? Large load @75mph in cold temps is not going to yield 100 miles, maybe if you run it to 0 SOC but who does that especially when towing. Pretty doubtful with the 35" tires, and trucks with lower Cd take a larger hit when towing...
  15. Help. Why not the Rivian?

So 4 years ago they claimed 500miles & now 4 years later they only mustered 60% of expectation? Something does not add up. Ironically the Nordic countries have by far the highest EV adoption rate. Do you have any idea how many drive EV's in Canada?
  16. Help. Why not the Rivian?

Many would say that 45F is not cold (still a ways from freezing), the truck was preconditioned and the operating temp would have been decent. Put more efficient tires on it and it would have done better but the pack is still (far?) too small for many use cases. The other brand did 317/340miles...
  17. Help. Why not the Rivian?

It is quite unfortunate that you did not reserve the Rivian early as well as you would have been driving it for your second winter now. I reserved both early & the max range on both have been a major letdown. You quoted the Rivian at 290 but that was in Conserve mode with the A/T tires. I...
  18. Cybertruck Highway Range Test (Dual-Motor AWD) -- Run Until Battery Empty (by Out Of Spec)

What makes you think the CT will be as efficient as the Rivian at 60mph? The Cd is still higher & besides it looks like the masses want/need hwy range @75-80mph not 60mph. Local range is virtually irrelevant. The most recent R1T DM test @ 70mph on 21" wheels & A/S was 2.4mi/kwh. It would be...
