Cybertruck design & engineering complete. First deliveries still this year.

Sounds like a alluminum subframe inside/under the exoskeletton........ This will be much faster to produce and chanels the forces (while towing) better to the structural battery pack. I'm fine with that as long as they solve galvanic corrosion.

It is effing final. Elon said so himself! "Cybertruck doesn’t need a garage"

 silly me to put oo instead of o but to let me in on the joke you have to explain a non native english speaker what a pootgun is. I only found a bootgun and that seems to be very inhumane. ?

In the US it should be enought to broadcast the sound of loading a shootgun.... ? ;)

5 Reasons I Love the Rivian...But Still Buying the Cybertruck (Video)

kind of offtopic, but not worth to open a new tread imho: @MEDICALJMP The presentation of the CT indeed was "life....changing" there are rumors of people having purchased their first TESLA stocks after (because of) the presentation..... but ordered a CT or two much later. Now they have...

It is effing final. Elon said so himself! "Cybertruck doesn’t need a garage"

Any one open for a compromise? If I want to pamper my CT it can easyly fit in my carport (3,5m wide by 3.8m high and 10m long). There will be even a charge point up to 22KW (because we have 3Phase residential power). It is located not in Texas (where everything is big?) but in Europe, in the...

    Cybertruck update date

HMMM obviously I have been too optimistic. I will raise another week and hope for the 27th of January 2021. It would be very dissapointing if "maybe in 4 weeks" ELON Time turns out to be even longer....

Wishful thinking for a U.K. Tesla CT Factory

Not only Honda pulled out....... BMW will produce the MINI Countryman in another country soone.... on the other hand: Yesterday I ordered a gift for my wife in the UK and now we patiently wait..... hoping for a speedy delivery. In 10 years we will look back and wonder what the f.. where the...

Factory pick-up in lieu of delivery [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

And this starts in TEXAS ?? Sign me up Scotty (Ace). Do you think a Texas council member can oppose this "Tradition" ? Will they put up barbed wire fences across the toll way?

Factory pick-up in lieu of delivery [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Even if the Semi is produced well before the CT (I doubt that).... you still need a trailer to put many CT on behind a Semi. And you still need a person to drive/unload/deliver them. Pick up at the factory is a well proven concept in Germany. It ensures customer loyalty and generates new...

Will the Cybertruck be allowed to drive in Europe?

Grey imports are allways for the diehard , desperate maybe 3% ..... Some people think of them as the lunatics? But there are a fact of life, maybe the spice of life?

If a full size AND mid size Cybertruck were available, what size would you order?

@***** Thank you for adding a valid point from "down under". And yes there are smaler forrest roads in the rest of the world too. It makes a good explanation why there is a need for a smaler CT. Even thought I still would like to get the size I ordered.? And yes I have a little cognitive...

Will the Cybertruck be allowed to drive in Europe?

Thank you Jeff @MEDICALJMP , this is basically true fore the rest EU countrys. But every single one has to put EU rules into "local law". That takes time..... Funny thing on the side: In this case it is also fossil fuels (CNG and H² tanks are very heavy) lobby pushing the cart. ;) And digging...

Will the Cybertruck be allowed to drive in Europe?

Tommi you qouted a price for Finnland. There is a huge tax part (> 20 Grand) in that price. You can get one new in Germany for 65.000,00€ or 79.223,95 US$...

Car designer Frank Stephenson's view on the Cybertruck

You have a good point there Les. But as far as I know this is only used with slower moving vehicles, e.g. earth moving equippment that is (with some extras like light, etc.) allowed on public roads. For all wheel steering, the front axel is still steered with mechanical fail back. Basically...

Car designer Frank Stephenson's view on the Cybertruck

Hi Les, you suggestion is spot on.... Steer by wire. Like a smale plane (Cesna) you do not have to "spin the wheel", just smale turns. I would like that, even if "an old dog has to learn a new trick". ? Just one big BUT: In most countrys a physical conection between "Steering device and...

Car designer Frank Stephenson's view on the Cybertruck

Thank you Juliana for this gem from the past.? Like so often (in Automotive) what seems to be something new (sail pilars) is not, it just has been forgotten. "The third time is a charm "?? Or how does the saying go..... btw. electric opening of the side pilar lids sould be standart..... how...

I want to sell my CYBRTRK

You are totally right. It feels good, in these times (we are locked down again), to let off some steam. My rant was not intended to be applied to you. I'm very sorry if it still felt like it. I tried to make that clear with "nothing personal". Your post was just the last drop that...
