  1. Range when towing?

Keep at 50 and I think you’ll be fine. How long will you be there? Be mindful of sentry drain if it’s overnight. I’ve never had under 100 miles when towing my airstream, but that’s a little lighter (7k) but more importantly much more aerodynamic. speed is your biggest factor. Slow down and...
  2. Cybertruck Range please answer below.

There are too many factors to meaningfully help you with this. Temp, speed, tires, wind, load, etc. I’ve easily achieved over 300 as well as under 200. Unsure if this is your first EV, but this is all part of it. Not unlike gas mileage scenarios that has its own factors as well.
  3. Cybertruck hitch analysis by Engineering Explained

I don’t understand what you are trying to accomplish. I feel confident we can come up with a set of assumptions that will achieve failure. 100% confident. But I don’t know how that is useful. An ICE vehicle has an increased risk of explosion if you push a lit cigarette into the gas tank...
  4. Cybertruck hitch analysis by Engineering Explained

And we haven’t even gotten into single axle vs double axle, which also impacts dynamic forces. Most people with very heavy loads will have a double (or triple) axle rather than single, which produces lower dynamic forces on the hitch.
  5. Cybertruck hitch analysis by Engineering Explained

Agree it would be nice. Though Tesla seems to be installing charging stations in such large numbers now that pulling in across is often not a problem. this was from this morning:
  6. Cybertruck hitch analysis by Engineering Explained

Except it does so in a results-oriented presentation. Which is why it’s borderline clickbait as opposed to truly helpful.
  7. Cybertruck hitch analysis by Engineering Explained

I watched the video and think it’s fair but with a presentation to be clickbaity. The fatigue issues seem like fair questions and we’re stuck taking Teslas word just like others have to take their OEMs words. What I don’t like from an engineering perspective is that in an effort to show how a...
  8. Towing an RV, questions.

If you are spaced ~100 miles between chargers, you have ZERO to worry about if you keep your speed remotely in check. Seriously, don’t listen to the clickbait headlines that talk about 84 miles or whatever it was. It’s simply not true unless you’re driving 75-80mph.
  9. Towing an RV, questions.

I have about 3k miles of towing at this point. The type of trailer will impact depending on the aerodynamics. I would worry less about the realistic range and more about the furthest distance between your chargers, in terms of whether you need to be concerned. As long as you’re charging to...
  10. How much is a new front display screen replacement?

That was my first reaction…. Just the screen protector. My iphone screen looked like that for awhile with a broken protector. Was too lazy to fix it. I don’t have anything on my CT screen.
  11. Tesla Air Compressor and Tire Repair Kit

Anyone have any idea when the Tesla compressor is supposed to be in stock again? I have one of the original $2500 credits so I’m waiting until I can include this. Most of the other items have now maintained better inventory levels after the initial surges.
  12. Market for Wheel Covers in DFW?

Thanks. I was thinking of parting with mine for probably $250-300.
  13. Market for Wheel Covers in DFW?

Yep. That’s what I was assuming. Although, I heard lots of them still haven’t been fulfilled and people were purchasing them elsewhere. Can’t remember where I read that recently.
  14. Market for Wheel Covers in DFW?

Is there any market or place to sell wheel covers in the DFW area? They’ve been used, but only one small blemish on one.
  15. Tesla Insurance now offering 10% discount for owners who use FSD for 50% or more of driving miles

I finally decided to try Tesla Insurance. My current carrier is USAA and their rates have continued to climb, so I figured with the discount, now was the time. However, after putting in identical coverage details as USAA, Tesla Insurance showed up more than 33% higher than USAA. That’s before...
  16. “Stats” now forcing subscription on early adopters

Not exactly. I understand your point, but for someone who uses the app periodically only, I may say it’s worth keeping the app and pay as you go. If the charges end up being too much, I can dial down use or disconnect altogether. Maybe he’s brilliant at predicting users and usage in the...
  17. “Stats” now forcing subscription on early adopters

Of course another option still would be to pass through those costs to the end user. At least then users will know whether it’s worth their money or not. Looking at the pricing chart on Tesla’s website, seems like $4.99/mo will soon become $9.99. Again, for me, it’s the how, not the what...
  18. “Stats” now forcing subscription on early adopters

The app developer has been really great to work with on little issues here and there since I paid for the app in 2018. Agree with post above that a heads up would have been nice. Maddening to have just been locked out permanently. But like others, I don’t use this as much as I used to...
  19. Cyber truck towing mirrors

In my ~3000 miles towing an Airstream or a scout trailer, I do not find the need for them. My experience has been that the CT mirrors are actually wider than most truck mirrors that aren’t outfitted with F250-like tow mirrors. Couple that with camera usage when changing lanes and it has been...
